“Mens sana in corpore sano.” (Juvenal) A healthy mind in a healthy body. This is a quote often used to show that in order to have a healthy mind you also need a healthy body and vice versa. If Juvenal is misquoted is trivial for the purposes of this post. 😊 We’re aware that working in the hospitality industry – like many others – can be stressful. We can’t change that. What we can do is give our colleagues some tools to compensate for this stress. Since the summer of 2022 they can apply for the EGYM Wellpass membership which we subsidize. From swimming pools over Tai Chi to massages this program offers many opportunities for relaxation and to do sports. Justus: "I use it almost every day. Welllpass stands out positively, especially in comparison to other providers, as it is much less restrictive for many programs and rarely has monthly participation limits." Sebastian: “I’ve been using this app for 1.5 years. I have a bad back and because of Wellpass I was able to add EMS training to my varied other activities which has really helped.” We’re happy that we could assist with preventive health measures, and thereby help release some stress and pain. #fitness #benefits #GorgeousSmilingHotels

QUESTION FOR YOU Do you lack confidence when it comes to going to the gym? If so, that’s normal! It took me years to have the confidence to walk on in there and train like I do now. I watched videos, asked for advice, set a goal and made a plan. Put my training days into my diary and didn’t miss the appointments As time went on I started to FEEL results. I felt more energy, felt motivated, firmer, stronger, happier, slept better….. this inspired me to look into eating better, started hitting my protein targets for each day which then brought about visible results 💪🏻 then I found myself STUCK in that happy cycle !! Of course there are up and down days, we are humans not robots- Bad habits are hard to break. So are good habits 💪🏻 choose to develop positive healthy habits and you no longer need motivation to keep going, it’s JUST WHAT YOU DO. Need help getting started and staying started? My planet has 2 moons. One is a dark chocolate smooth yet bumpy and angular surface and the other - a bright, kind, compassionate and beautiful soul with a goatee who gets to affect everything about cocoa like our moon and the tides. He went from pressing 7.5kg on 11.5.24 for 8reps to 20kg on 12.5.24 for 6 reps with a 1.5week business travel. Stronger, moving better, core on fire and more mobile for his yoga practise and adapting his nutrition to his benefit. We are selective of our exercises, we discuss why certain things will help strengthen and improve things, we do and intermittently analyse if it is working. If it is working… chug along, otherwise we reformulate. Working in partnership with clients. 💪🏽👍🏾🙏🫶🏻 🤗 Strong. Fit. Healthy. SOLUTIONS FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL. Come and let’s have some fun! It’s that time of year again! The month of fresh starts! That’s why gym memberships spike in January, and, yes, so does redoubling effort to lose avoirdupois, especially after the holidays. And it’s the best of times to embark on the quest to shed. A recent study by Oxford University confirms this. It found that those who dieted in January lost up to 30% more weight than those who tried in other months (August, oddly, was the worst—the temptation of too many ice cream treats?) Here are hotels where you can savor the flavors without deep-sixing your diet. https://bit.ly/3Smo8yk #health #wellness #exercise #diet #meetingprofs #meetingprofessionals #meetsmart #experiencesmart

🍻ALCOHOL & EXERCISE..?🤸♀️ Well there are “suggestions” that when sticking to the recommended guidelines, it could help ⬇️ the risk of ❤️ disease 🤔😂 However, it’s all to easy to consume too much! It’s a high energy source giving around 7 cals/ gram, none of which give you any nutrient benefits (carb & protein are 4, fat is 9) A 🍺 = 200-220kcal A 125ml 🍷 = 100-120kcals Lots of easy, empty cals in a short space of time! As I tell my clients, you might as well be eating a 🍰 per drink. If you are trying to stick to a #caloriedeficit you can guarantee it gets wiped out by #alcohol. It is also a double whammy as alcohol inhibits ‘Kreb’s Cycle’ (think back to high school science 😂) which means your body stops breaking down fat for fuel when alcohol is present. This is why you get hungry and reach for the 🍟+🧀- making it a triple whammy! If you are training the morning after the night before, session quality will be shit due to dehydration 😵 and ⬇️ muscle glycogen. But what if you are trying to get a pump on 💪 to look good when you’re in your brand new party clobber? After all thats why we #exercise right? Well that and something about “health” or something 🤷♂️ Well if you’re serious about #fitness gains, you’ll still need to track the alcohol consumption and you definitely won’t make it fit. If you are training for something in particular - #sport, #holiday, #fatloss - then maybe keep to a minimum until that event. Or cut out altogether. I for one, like a beer with some pals. And it’s consistency that counts so if your diet & exercise routine is consistent, what harm is a few drinks between friends? Speaking of consistency, what do you think about what I shared? Do you agree or disagree? Does this kind of “competition” fuel ones drive or adds pressure? What’s your advice for a first time Gym user like me? On the flip side, I now have my goals set for the next 3 months. * Build consistent habit on a particular activity (Attend the Gym at least 3 times in a week). * Improve my exercise tolerance through personalized workout sessions * Cut down on my calorie intake (I have a daily calorie goal and I am looking into balancing my meal plan and make it as healthy as possible). As a lover of food that I am, I am looking into ensure I enjoy this process while eating what I love but the healthier way (freshly cooked meals). P.S: My reason for joining the Gym is not to lose weight; my weight is perfect as it is. But to improve my exercise tolerance, stay fit and be accountable to a system of support. I have desired this for long but procrastinated and I am happy doing this 🤗🥰 I look forward to reading from you, cheer me on if you agree and you also can be encouraged to keep up a healthy lifestyle choice like me. #JubileeOkoro #DiaryOfAnOccupationalTherapist #HealthyLiving #GymMotivation #Consistency

🌟 What strategy do you use to get through your "blue" days? 🌟 I started this year with a goal to upgrade my exercise practice, in order to stay healthy and motivated through the long, rather cold and dark winter days in Norway. 🌛 ❄ ...According to statistics, over 90% of people who make a New Year's resolution have already quit by January 19th, and 92% of those who take out a new gym membership stop showing up by the second week of February. With this statistics in mind new year´s resolutions might not be the best strategy to change habits. 🤓 But I am still here, and one of the strategies that have worked for me is applying the "start small, be measured, and build gradually" principle. I gradually increased my gym visits from one to two every week, in addition to my regular Ashtanga Yoga which I have been doing 2-3 times a week for more than 10 years. My Goal Maps have been a great accountability partner, and my healthy diet supplemented with Zinzino Health Protocol has kept me focused and physically healthy. 🤗 🧘♀️ 🌟 ..Let me know if I can support you in getting through your "blue" days.. 🌟 #motivation #healthylifestyle #goals #selfcare #fitnessmotivation
