Creator or client, here are the things we think our community need to know about this year's Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity👇 👥 ‘Community’ was the word of the week. Repeat after us: “creators are the key to your community”. It was the word on everyone’s lips and we’re gassed it’s the Buttermilk tagline. But there’s still so much opportunity to understand creators’ roles. 🗣 Celebrity endorsements are still a thing. With authenticity having more value than ever, brands need to make sure that celebrities are more than just a ‘face’ to the brand. It’s about connecting all the voices together for maximum impact. ⚡Creator campaigns aren’t always social campaigns. Creators can supercharge brand, experiential and social campaigns. But the beauty is in the creative freedom. Too much winning work was part of a ‘bigger idea’ that the creators were executing. We want to see creator-first, not second campaigns. 🤔 We need more curiosity and compassion. Every creator on stage spoke about alignment and how they want to work with brands that are the right fit. The more brands can understand why and how a single creator or type of creator should work with them, the better the outcome. 💞 Creator marketing isn’t going away. It’s clear this new(ish) discipline is gaining traction and respect. The Creator pass and HQ are signs of that. But there’s so much room for innovation, newness and we should be excited about what’s to come.
