Yesterday we celebrated the one-year anniversary of Akima’s acquisition of Pinnacle Solutions, an Akima Company. Over the last year, Pinnacle has made major accomplishments, between milestone proposals and significant wins, we’re proud to have been a part of their success. Their virtual training development tools and processes have broadened Akima’s offerings and underscored our mission to support the federal government. Throughout June, Akima sites took part in the National Safety Council (NSC)'s #NationalSafetyMonth. The training promoted safety awareness and practices among employees, along with spreading the message of how crucial our individual "why" is when it comes to workplace safety for all. The overall participation across Akima amplified the impact and awareness we all bring to our world of safety, both individually and collectively. The value of pausing to remember the reason why we make the choice to work safely every day is of the utmost importance in our pursuit of safety. Akima sponsored the recent Tennessee Valley Chapter (TVC) of the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA)’s annual golf tournament, which benefited the TVC Scholarship Fund. Pinnacle Solutions, an Akima Company leadership from nearby Huntsville, Alabama, teed off in the tournament to support the cause.  

Akima's A Mission that Matters video recently won a gold Hermes Creative Award, administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals! This narrated, animated video shares the story of how Akima's federal contracting work supports and enhances the lives of our Iñupiat shareholders and exemplifies the pride our customers and partners should feel when doing business with us. Throughout the storyline, elements of Iñupiat culture — including fishing, Alaskan wildlife, the tundra, and snowmobiling — are interwoven with representations of Akima's contracting work, such as aviation, information technology, protective services, facility logistics, and more. The animation was directed by Akima's Stakeholder Engagement team and produced by creative agency Yes&. Congratulations to the Stakeholder Engagement team and Yes& on taking home a gold award!
