About the role:

Based out of our New York office or remote within North America, the VP, Commerce Media will be focused on driving new client acquisitions through the management and expansion of a portfolio of Surfside’s most strategic channel partners. In addition, this role will also be responsible for working with our Sales teams & leadership to identify additional high potential channel partner opportunities from within Surfside’s existing client base, & externally.


The successful candidate will need to display strong commercial acumen in order to broker high value deals with enterprise level companies. Working alongside our key channel partners, they will be expected to build and cultivate commercial strategies that drive revenue for Surfside. The channel partner ecosystem is a significant and fast-growing part of Surfside’s core revenue strategy - driving new revenue through strengthening existing partnerships and expanding industry exposure of the platform.


This role requires a self-starter with a passion for delivering results and strong interest in sales, strategy, marketing, analytics, and business development.


An expert knowledge and proven experience of Retail / Commerce Media and Digital monetization programs is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage a pipeline to drive revenue growth for Surfside’s Partnership ecosystem.
  • Identify and convert net-new leads from partners into the publisher funnel.
  • Enhance existing partners' productivity through strategic planning, consulting, and training/enablement sessions.
  • Develop and implement programs that align with mutual strategic plans.
  • Own and report on team revenue numbers, establishing monthly/quarterly business reviews to meet mutual objectives.
  • Willingness to travel to meet with corporate contacts, retail managers/GMs, along with industry trade shows and in-market meetings.
  • Foster best-in-class relationships with partners, becoming their trusted advisor across sales, pre-sales, marketing, consulting, and executive levels.
  • Develop compelling business value propositions that encourage partners to advocate for Surfside solutions.
  • Lead the development and growth of the Partnerships team.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment, both internally and externally.
  • Create and execute collaborative Partner Business Plans, including marketing activities, to achieve mutual goals.
  • Understand partners’ value drivers, economics, and business models to align them with Surfside’s strategy and goals.
  • Establish and monitor short- and long-term goals and performance metrics in line with corporate objectives.
  • Ensure partner compliance with agreements and manage potential channel conflicts.


Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (Master's preferred but not required).
  • 6+ years of business development experience with enterprise-level clients.
  • 3+ years of experience leading channel or partnership teams.
  • Proven track record of selling to and building relationships with "C" level executives.
  • Experience in SaaS, executive coaching, and experience in a high-growth environment is highly desirable.
  • Strong channel sales, sales management, or technology sales experience with a history of success.
  • Proven ability to develop and nurture strategic relationships with partners.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with the ability to wear multiple hats.
  • Experience in digital media, especially AdTech and MarTech, is preferred.
  • Strong communication, questioning, and listening skills in formal and informal settings.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills with a consultative approach to relationship-building.
  • Forward-thinking and creative problem solver with a passion for uncovering new revenue opportunities.
