As the Analyst, Trade & Logistics, you will play a key role in supporting, analyzing, and optimizing the movement of goods across international borders (into North/Central/South America and Caribbean geographies) specializing in creative visual merchandising, global store design & construction, and information technology commodities.
Your primary responsibilities include coordinating with internal teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure compliance with trade regulations, timely delivery, and cost-effective movement of goods. You will also be responsible for analyzing data to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, as well as audits of entry data & documentation for excellence in compliance.
This role requires a deep understanding of trade compliance regulations, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
Logistics Management
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery of goods
Maintain standard industry benchmarking metrics to analyze the health of the supply chain and logistics partner performance. Develop reporting criteria with brokers and forwarders to establish accountability for meeting metrics.
Analyze shipment and brokerage data to improve door to door lead time and leverage trade policies & programs to minimize landed costs
Provide guidance when needed for item classification, claims, service failures, expediting clearance/shipments, assisting with special request, etc.
Business Partnership
Partner with internal teams and suppliers to educate on compliance topics, licensing requirements, prohibited shipping items, participating government agency requirements, supplier performance, cost savings opportunities, and operational efficiencies
Supply guidance to teams for planning of projects & annual budgets based on lead-time considerations and import duty & tax rates for in-scope commodities
Generate and keep current, standard operating procedures that drive efficient, compliant, and orderly work processes between functional teams & suppliers
Trade Compliance
Establish clearance procedures, notification of clearance, and document retention procedures with customs brokers.
Create and maintain a database with commonly shipped items classification and participating government agency requirements.
Execute statistical audits of customs entries and import/export documentation to ensure compliance with trade regulations.
Assess risks related to international trade activities and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
Continually communicate with internal teams and suppliers to ensure awareness of, and compliance with country-specific laws & regulations for import/export including documentation, licenses/permits, and other requirements.
Process Innovation
Identify efficiency opportunities, providing data driven support from analysis and industry best practices
Provide support for special projects related to trade and logistics as needed
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field
4-6 years’ practical experience in a trade compliance or logistics function
Strong knowledge of import/export regulations including classification, valuation, country of origin, and FTA origin determination rules
Experience conducting audits and assessing compliance risks
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets
Proficiency with Microsoft office applications – Word, Excel, Power Query, and PowerPoint
Positive attitude, personable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
A hands-on self-starter who is comfortable with fast turnarounds and tight timelines

Preferred Requirements:
Experience with ERP systems (Oracle JDE E1) is preferred
Certification in trade compliance (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist or Licensed Customs Broker) a plus
Familiarity of customs/import requirements for most major markets in the Americas (US/Canada primary markets of interest)
Experience handling importation of commercial construction materials/millwork, and information technology hardware
The hiring range for this position ranges from $74,035-$100,165. The rate of pay offered will be dependent upon candidates’ relevant skills and experience.
