Time for another round-up of #cpgindustry news: Athletic Brewing Co. has closed a $50 million equity financing round led by private equity firm General Atlantic, with several key investors from previous fundraising rounds also participating. Chobani is debuting its first-ever shelf-stable low-fat dairy milk product that will be donated to people impacted by natural disasters or food insecurity. Chobani Super Milk lasts up to 9 months without refrigeration and will be deployed by the American Red Cross and distributed to local food banks and pantries in Central New York and Southern Idaho. Beverage veteran Christopher Link has joined Oatly in the newly created role of chief customer officer. Before his appointment, Link had stints as a board member of East Coast Kombucha Company, LLC and an adivising partner at Ford's Garage.

Here's what's up in the #cpgindustry this week: Frozen baked goods producer Mason Dixie Foods has launched a new Chicken & Waffle Sandwich at Costco Wholesale stores across the Midwest, deepening the brand’s partnership with the warehouse club chain. Indian-inspired food company Masala Mama has introduced a 4-SKU line of protein-packed ready-to-eat legumes including Ooh La La Lentils, Cha Cha Chickpeas, La Bamba Black Beans and Rah-Rah Red Beans. Masala Mama’s new legume line is available at Sprouts Farmers Market, The Fresh Market and Earth Fare. Little Spoon, the meal delivery service offering organic food and snacks for babies, toddlers and kids, has launched a new line of Overnight Oats in partnership with Oatly. Fx Chocolate, a Designs for Health brand, has expanded its portfolio of protein supplement bars with five new varieties: Bold Beauty Collagen, Bone Broth Chocolate Crunch, Cocommune, Peanut Butter Joint Power and Plant-Powered Magnesium. Whipped Fusion is seeking to shake up the whipped cream category with the launch of its flagship dairy-free, alcohol-infused (14% ABV) whipped cream. Available in a So Vanilla flavor, the product features an 18-month shelf life. Single-serve luxury brownie and cookie maker LEXINGTON BAKES has relaunched its products to now feature a smaller size format and 25% less sugar per serving. The products have gone from 5-oz to a bite-size 2-oz treat and from $11 to $6, per consumers requests, according to the company. Hero Bread has closed on a $21 million financing round, co-led by Cleveland Avenue, DNS Capital and Composite Ventures and participation from existing investor GreatPoint Ventures. Hero Bread has more than $68.5 million in total funding to date, according to the company. Frozen food brand Balkan Bites has added Mini Phyllo Rolls to its southeastern European-inspired product line. The phyllo rolls, which may be prepared in the oven or an air fryer, are made with fresh phyllo dough and feature unbleached flour, extra virgin olive oil and butter. Flavors include spinach and cheese, beef and onion and cheese medley. Tilray Brands announced the launch of a nonalcoholic beer brand, Runner’s High Brewing Company, targeting active consumers looking for a healthier alternative to beer. It will debut first in Atlanta, with an expansion into more markets planned for later this year.

Here's what's happening in the #cpgindustry this week: Tender Food. has raised over $11 million in a Series A funding round, led by Rhapsody Venture Partners. The funding will help the company scale capacity at its new facility and commercialize its first products at scale in addition to lowering production costs, according to the company. Bones Coffee Company. has launched a line of ready-to-drink cold brew lattes. The products come in five flavors of Sinn-o-bun (developed as an exclusive flavor for Walmart), french toast, holy cannoli, S’morey time and electric unicorn. Hooters of America is launching its first line of frozen appetizers and snacks. The four offerings — BBQ Smoked Wings, Dry Rub Smoked Wings, Buffalo Style Boneless Wingz and Buffalo Style Popcorn Chicken — will initially be sold at Publix Super Markets. Premier Proteins has expanded its lineup of breakfast offerings with the addition of Pancake and Waffle Mixes. Available in Buttermilk and Original varieties, the mixes pack 15 grams of protein per serving and can be made by just adding water. Mavericks Snacks has unveiled its newest innovation, Sandwich Crackers. Offered in two varieties at launch – Peanut Butter and Cheddar – the crackers feature 8 grams of whole grains per serving. They are exclusively available at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide. Heyday Canning Co. has launched a new collection of canned soups and chilis available nationwide at Whole Foods Market. The new line includes Grilled Cheese Tomato Soup, Creamy Coconut Corn Chowder, Lemon Parmesan Noodle Soup, Golden Butternut Lentil Stew, Fire Roasted Sweet Potato Chili and Pinto & Black Bean Mole Chili. Miyoko's Creamery has introduced two new Oat Milk Butter flavors, Garlic Parm and Cinnamon Brown Sugar. The new offerings are available for purchase at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide. Brooklyn Delhi has announced its newest product line, which just launched at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide. The new 4-SKU line includes Sweet Potato Coconut Dal, Red Bean Rajma Masala, Black Bean Butter Masala and Chickpea Tikka Masala.
