SVP - Asset Management (Debt)

Macdonald & Company is proudly partnered with a national real estate investment firm to appoint a Senior Vice President of Asset Management into their office in Denver, CO.

The Company

The firm have 17-year track record of real estate investing through various funds, with current AUM in excess of $2Billion. After the launch of a successful credit investments platform, the company are now building out the asset management division of this platform, and seek a Vice President or Senior Vice President of Asset Management to join at a pivotal time for them.

The Position

The SVP is responsible for building out a new asset management platform and team for the business. The person appointed will play a key role in how the portfolio of investments are managed, implementing new processes and infrastructure as needed, along with hiring and building out the asset management team.

This individual will be responsible for bond and property reporting, construction draws, and loan servicing, managing all aspects of the credit platform through the asset's life cycle.

Core responsibilities include:

• Implementation of asset/investment management infrastructure, processes and team
• Lead in the delivery of monthly and quarterly fund updates
• Review and monitor construction loans
• Constant evaluation of existing practices
• Ensuring alignment of aligning asset valuation targets with initial underwriting projections
• Monitor monetary (debt service/property tax/insurance) and non-monetary (financials/business plans/budgets/event dates/loan covenants) requirements of loans and bonds.
• Preparation of business plans in support of negotiated resolution strategies such as loan restructures/modifications and maturity deferrals or extension
• Participate in due diligence for new acquisitions

Experience

• Background in asset management & credit underwriting (Multifamily strongly preferred)
• Experience in leading a deal through maturity, loan workouts, and system buildouts
• Proficient in Excel and servicing platforms
• Capability in implementing new processes and infrastructure
