  • This role is part of our Fuel team within our Finance division.
  • This role is responsible for leading and overseeing airport fuel infrastructure, ensuring operators efficiently manage and operate airport fuel facilities. This role will focus on maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance across all domestic locations.

What You'll Do

  • Design strategy for fuel operations, with approval from Director, to ensure appropriate corporate, consortium, and vendor resources are employed and financially justified; execute strategy by coordinating direct report(s)
  • Negotiate contracts and manage vendors for storage and into-plane fueling services.
  • Ensure the Company’s fueling infrastructure requirements are met by working with Airport Authorities, Fuel Facility Owners / Operators, Fuel Service Contractors, Other Airlines and Fueling Consortia
  • Lead and preside over several fueling consortiums; manage and select service providers for the effective operation of these consortia; work with service providers and staff to develop annual budget, preparation for annual meetings, and methods used for cost allocations.
  • Take direct responsibility for 1) develop company budget for all fuel service fees; 2) investigate and explain variances versus plan to ensure Fuel Finance can explain to senior management; 3) work with accounting / Fuel Finance to validate invoices and ensure proper authorization for consortium / into plane contracts; 4) manage inter-company issues/billing/cost allocations to ensure the best interest of the company are achieved
  • Develop business cases for new infrastructure requirements / systems to be reviewed by consortia and internal management.
  • Contribute cross-functionally to support corporate/group objectives.
  • Manage Fuel Management relationship with Maintenance/Tech Ops/Accounting/Airports to ensure uniform and appropriate adherence to fuel quality, safety standards, and all fuel related processes, including Fuel Administration input into FAA Fuel Manual & Departure Control Manual.
  • Work with Airlines 4 America Energy Council and Fuel Technical Team to develop uniform practices for the management of fueling infrastructure across the industry

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Operations, or other equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience managing fuel operations, including a minimum of 3 years of board-level participation within a major domestic fuel consortium

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Graduate degree

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Proven management skills involving multiple departments and/or companies with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
