Right now, we are looking for a Software Engineer located in San Antonio, TX to join our Application Development Team. The primary function of this role is to be responsible for understanding the business and how to apply/augment the IT application architecture to plan, design, build, test, and integrate state of the art web solutions for both internal and public-facing applications. This role requires a strong understanding and experience with responsive design web applications, messaging buses, micro services, and relational database architecture.

What you'll do:


  • Analyze the needs of the users
  • Design, test and develop the software to meet those needs
  • Recommend upgrades for existing systems and programs
  • Develop separate elements of a software that work well in the program as a whole
  • Create various diagrams, flowcharts and models that illustrate the type of code needed for programming
  • Ensure continued functionality of a program during maintenance and testing of software
  • Document each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance
  • Revisit the development process to fix bugs or address client or consumer concerns
  • Experience with building, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Software based solutions and systems
  • Diagnose, solve, or assist staff in solving non-routine or complex software, hardware, and procedural problems
  • Analyze and minimize the impact of production changes on business operations by leveraging test/validation processes, process documentation and change management
  • Maximize system availability and optimize the end user experience
  • Work with team members and manager to develop long term vision and road map strategy for responsible platforms in alignment with organizational and company strategic objectives
  • Analyze business needs and conduct research for technical and procedural solutions. Implement and monitor process improvement efforts, including quantifiable measures of success
  • Lead project efforts and work with IT and business partners to define project scope, identify and prioritize requirements, and building thorough, clean project plans


What you'll need:


  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 5-10 years of experience in related field
  • D365 F&O technical and development experience strongly preferred
  • SalesForce technical and development experience strongly preferred
  • Outsystems technical and development experience strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong coding skills and ability to program in multiple languages/environments
  • Strong engineering and design skills
  • Strong Team and Agile development experience
  • Intellectually curious; explores system and process improvements
  • Ability to evolve within a rapidly changing environment
  • Experience summarizing and presenting findings and challenges to management
  • Leads by example; improves the performance of others; asks for help to avoid future issues; provides mentorship to junior team members; actively collaborates with peers and others to solve problems
  • Demonstrated ability to assess risk, identify root issues and provide excellent viable solutions for the business and to the customer
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and translate technical language to non-technical customers across the company and within span of control


Additional Computer Equipment & Software Experience:


  • Expert Level Object Oriented programming (C#, .Net, Visual Studio)
  • High Level Microsoft SQL Data Structures (T-SQL coding)
  • SSIS / SSRS experience preferred
  • Azure cloud services experience preferred
