Position Title: Ski and Ride School Assistant Director

Business Unit: Ski and Ride School

Position Reports to: Director of Snowsports

Positions Reporting to this Role: Managers, Supervisors, Training staff

Location: Crystal Mountain,Washington

Wage Range: 74,000 - 84,000 DOE, Salaried

Job Summary

The Assistant Director is responsible for coordination and oversight of all aspects related to the daily operation of the Ski & Ride School. This position will work with managers and trainers to ensure all areas of the department are properly staffed, administrative tasks are accomplished, and training is well-designed and executed. The person in this position must be an effective and inspiring leader with significant experience in the Snowsports industry.

Essential Duties

  • Participate in developing annual departmental budgets and business plans.
  • Work with managers to ensure all payroll, staffing levels, inventory levels, hiring procedures and all other administrative functions are managed efficiently and timely.
  • Provide feedback and support to managers, supervisors and instructors.
  • Manage staff training and development program.
  • Resolve guest complaints by utilizing guest service guidelines. Accommodate special requests when appropriate.
  • Conduct interviews and make hiring decisions for our instructors and support staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skill And Ability Requirements

  • PSIA Level 3 certification. Divisional Education Staff experience preferred.
  • Have to ability to think creatively to implement new initiatives.
  • Minimum of five years working experience in a Ski & Snowboard School
  • Minimum of three years of supervisory experience
  • Must have excellent guest service and communication skills
  • Must work well in a team environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Must be able to work in inclement weather in an alpine environment
  • This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays while in operation.
  • Able to lift, carry, or otherwise move and position a minimum of 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other common office equipment on an occasional basis.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling on an occasional basis.
