Position Summary

The Senior Back Office Application Developer position is part of the lottery division engineer team at Scientific Games. Your work on this team will help enable the funding of good causes like education, health care, senior citizens, roads, bridges, state parks and trails as well as the environment.

Joining this team, you will be among peers in professional engineering that report up in small groups to a Software Development Manager. You will find these teams are made up of career minded professionals that have chosen to be in the lottery industry.

In addition to the good causes lottery’s fund, lottery in general has proven to perform well through recessions. Even in 2020, we experienced growth in some verticals within the lottery division.

Position Description



The Senior Back Office Application Developer will be responsible for all aspects of system design, technical solution, and development for OutSystems web applications. In addition to the design and developing of web applications, this role’s responsibility will also include the configuration of modules, design of integration flows and interfaces, management of environments, deployment of applications, generation of reports, monitoring, and management of incidents.  Role will be required to support multiple projects simultaneously along with guiding and leading development team members.  Will actively participate in requirements gathering with Scientific Games customers, analysis review, estimations, problem analysis, resolution, and design documentation.

Acquiring a deep understanding of the lottery industry and of the Scientific Games back-office system, gemEnterprise, will be a priority for this position. This includes all the lottery business processes, requirements and interfaces related to billing and accounting.



Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar experience.
  • Must have 4+ years programming experience and production support, preferably in a large-scale transaction processing or other complex system, is a plus.
  • Must have design, architecture and web development experience using Agile development platforms such as Low Code/OutSystems.
  • Must have advanced SQL (T-SQL) experience and a solid understanding of relational database concepts.
  • Windows Platform Experience (Data Transfer).
  • Must have a solid understanding of C#, .Net and CSS.
  • Must have application, UI and/or API design, implementation, and integration.
  • Must have experience in requirements Analysis, design and documentation.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, collaboration, verbal communication and writing skills
  • Must have ability to work in a fast-paced team environment where multiple projects must be managed simultaneously.
  • Preferred gaming/lottery business experience. Experience in banking, finance and/or gaming industries is a plus.
  • Nice to have experience installing/using MS SSIS, MS SQL Server Standard and Enterprise/Always On, SFTP setup/processing.
