Reporting to the Senior Research Services Manager, this role will work closely with Research Services Staff to promote the department’s resources from acquisition to discovery and delivery. The individual in this role will have a strong understanding of the full cycle of electronic resources management as well as experience in vendor communication, and in the development and use of evaluative criteria to support licensing and renewal. This position is critical to the effective operation of the department and represents an opportunity to rethink and realign workflows and electronic resources management.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Research Staff to support reliable access to electronic resources through the library’s discovery systems.
  • Perform original and complex copy cataloging for all resource formats.
  • Collaborate with Research Staff to maintain the functionality of our integrated library system, assess best practices, and streamline workflow.
  • Participate in troubleshooting user access problems and communicating solutions.
  • Investigate and recommend policies, procedures, and best practices for collection and resources management.
  • Analyze library collections data in order to contribute to collection assessment.
  • Collaborate with the Research Staff in evidence-based collection assessment processes to analyze, evaluate, and adjust library resources to align with the firm’s research needs.
  • Contribute to planning and acquisition of new resources in collaboration with Senior Research Services Manager.
  • Participate in reference services, including periodic staffing of the reference desk.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging systems, tools, and industry trends and other data for resource management, access, and assessment.
  • Any other tasks or projects as requested.


Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • 4-6 years’ experience in electronic resources collection development in a law library.
  • Experience with library management systems and Research Monitor.
  • Experience with research platforms including, but not limited to, Westlaw, Practical Law, Lexis, Bloomberg Law, VitalLaw, Checkpoint, RBSource Filings, Bloomberg terminal.
  • Experience planning, organizing, and managing projects, both independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong organization skills, including setting priorities, planning, and structuring project deliverables.

Salary range based on experience level and location is estimated to be in the range of $70,000 – 85,000.
