Job Summary

The Romano lab at the Dept of Pharmacology and Physiology at Drexel University College of Medicine is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to lead projects studying molecular mechanisms of cancer drug resistance at the intersection of immunology and cancer therapeutics. The postdoc will independently perform experiments using in vivo and in vitro cancer and infectious disease models. Previous experience with mouse work and general knowledge of main wet lab techniques is required. The postdoc is expected to apply to national and international fellowships and attend conferences and meetings presenting their work. Individuals with a passion for scientific research and willing to grow professionally are particularly encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions

  • Designing, Executing and Analyzing experiments.
  • Writing fellowships, participating in conferences.
  • Writing reports and scientific papers.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a PhD or Doctorate in Molecular Biology, Molecular Medicine, Immunology, Cancer Biology or Similar.
  • A minimum of 3 years of post-doctoral experience.
  • Previous experience with in vivo work and general wet lab techniques; mammalian cell culture experience, including viral infections, transfections, drug screenings, and drug assays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in bioinformatics; experience in bioengineering.

    Additional Information

    This position is classified as an exempt grade I. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 41,120.00 to $ 61,680.00 per Year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
