BSN obtained within 12 months of hire date into this position
Working knowledge of nursing in a hospital setting
Understanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements as they relate to patient safety and performance improvement
Working knowledge of quality improvement tools, data analysis and statistics, and publicly reported patient safety initiatives
Well developed communication skills, both oral and written
Licensure/Registration/Certification
Alabama RN License
Desired Qualifications
MSN or MN
Experience with the Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Effect Analysis processes
Ability to critically analyze reasearch articles and appropriately apply findings to practice
Successful completion of a Clinical Nurse Leader education master's program or experience in a CNL role
CPHQ certification
Establishes and coordinates a System wide patient safety program that fosters ongoing improvement in patient safety and complies with accreditation and regulatory standards. Works with executives, management, hospital and medical staff to develop a culture of safety and medical error prevention.
