Who Are We Looking For?

We are looking for a dynamic, empathetic and flexible Nursing Manager that will enjoy managing a pediatric clinic. They must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic work environment. The Nursing Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of both the clinical and administrative functions within the clinic. The role will encompass leadership in patient care delivery, staff management, compliance, and clinic administration.

Duties And Responsibilities

Staff Management:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate nursing and administrative staff.
  • Develop staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage for patient care and administrative tasks.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing and administrative personnel, fostering a cohesive and efficient team environment.
  • Address staff concerns and grievances, promoting a positive work culture.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching to improve staff performance.
  • Collaborate and build strong partnerships with other leaders and your HR Business partner to understand business objectives and develop HR strategies that support organizational goals.

Patient Care Coordination

  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans, ensuring they meet clinical standards and patient needs.
  • Monitor patient outcomes to ensure quality care in coordination with providers and the Lead Physician.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical/program protocols and standards of care, promoting patient safety and satisfaction.
  • Understand how to manage a reaction event and how to perform, read and skill validate for all procedures performed in the clinic including, but not limited to, patch placements, skin testing, PFT, eNo’s, medication administration.
  • Ensure that clinic operations run smoothly and that patient appointments are managed effectively to minimize wait times.

Clinic Administration

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the clinic, including scheduling, billing, and facility management.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to streamline administrative processes and ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements.
  • Focus on enhancing the overall patient experience by providing excellent customer service and addressing patient concerns or complaints promptly.
  • Monitor clinic finances, including budget development, expense management, and revenue optimization.
  • Oversee the maintenance of electronic health records (EHR) and other practice management systems.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with other departments and leaders in the organization.

Quality Improvement

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes and clinic efficiency.
  • Monitor workflows and collect and analyze key performance metrics related to clinical and administrative processes, identifying areas for improvement to enhance efficiency.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and best practices to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff, leaders, and other departments to ensure a seamless and coordinated patient care experience.

Compliance And Regulation

  • Monitor adherence to clinical guidelines and regulatory standards, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of clinical and administrative activities, facilitating audits and inspections.
  • Stay updated on changes in healthcare laws and regulations, implementing necessary changes to ensure compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), Healthcare Administration, or other related field preferred.
  • Valid nursing license (RN) in the state of California.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
  • 3-5 years’ experience supervisory, nursing leadership and/or healthcare administration role.
    • Previous experience in ER, Allergy, Immunology or Pediatric Pulmonology preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively oversee clinical and administrative staff.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practices
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft, GoogleSuite, EHR systems, and other practice management software.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to walk between multiple office locations that include the use of stairs (elevator is only available in some instances).

This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
