SAP BI and Data Analytics Manager

Basic Function

SAP business intelligence leader responsible for developing solutions with IT developers and users focused on operating performance improvements, KPI dashboarding, SAP data warehousing, data analytics and user autonomy in data analysis.

PROBLEM-SOLVING/KNOW HOW: :(complexity of problems and education/experience & other knowledge required) Four Year college degree in a related field and four (4) years related experience. Experience includes two (2) years sales operations, information technology, materials planning, or purchasing (2) years in automotive or related manufacturing organizations and (2) years in SAP business analyst role, business intelligence, data analytics and/or data warehousing. Demonstrated ability to originate and author convincing analytical data, often combining disparate data sets (e.g. forecasts, schedules, EDI, ASNs, Inventory, etc) to persuade, influence and negotiate solutions to challenging problems in supply, service, loss avoidance/recovery, cost reduction or business continuity assurance. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Windows based databases as appropriate to the position and assignment. Advanced Excel and related capabilities, including Pivot tables, PowerBI / Power Query, Vlookup, relational databases and data cleansing tools. Facility or experience with SAP Table structure, SAP Procure to Pay, Forecast to Plan, Order-to-Cash and Plan to Deliver. Automotive Tier1/OEM (original equipment manufacturer) expertise in EDI (electronic data interchange), data sufficiency/limitations and ability to problem-solve and root cause MRP (materials requirements planning) issues occurring externally from customers or internally within SAP. SQL/Relational database/Python/ABAP knowledge and/or experience preferred

Must have the ability to effectively and appropriately interface and communicate with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis, to include customers and internal employees.

Accountabilities

Cross-functional SAP and business intelligence project lead working with SCM users, IT, SAP experts/consultants, and business intelligence analysts. Develops critical path analysis, project risk/health reporting and escalation as appropriate to decide alternatives and deliver projects within budget.

Leads user requirements definition, alternatives formulation and project manage from development through test and user acceptance all relevant SCM enhancements in SAP and business intelligence data warehousing.

Tests SAP enhancements and BI reporting before user acceptance and counsels users on test conditions before production deployment.

Subject matter expertise in SAP table structure, standard SAP reporting and tools and business intelligence /power BI to formulate timely delivery of SCM user needs and requests. Periodically serves as lead trainer and deployment manager for major enhancements and improvements in SAP and business intelligence reporting.

Facilitates best solution to SCM user needs, including SAP ECC master data changes, custom BI development or effective combinations of existing SAP T-codes and reports.

Develops proof of concept solutions to test and hone requirements for projects with key users. Proposes rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources.

Proactively identifies new data sources and analytics opportunities to ensure SCM and operational decision-making is based on the most current, objective and comprehensive insights.

Formulates user-enablement strategies, recommends tools and relevant training to assist users with self-empowerment in SAP data combinations, reporting and problem solving.

Reviews and plans Business Intelligence projects holistically to ensure productive and timely delivery of required reports, KPIs, queries and data combinations.

Assists and co-develops strategic roadmapping for SAP data warehouse, BI functions, enabling user tools and advanced analytical tools including machine learning, AI etc.
