Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a college or university accredited by
  
  

an organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education

Accreditation (CHEA) or by the United States Department of

Education (USDE). Major course work in Spanish, Linguistics, or

a related field preferred. Each year of experience as described

below in excess of the required two years may be substituted for

thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university on

a year-for-year basis.

• Two years full-time, wage-earning administrative support,
  
  

technical program support, or criminal justice experience utilizing

bilingual skills in reading, writing, and speaking by interpreting or

translating Spanish to English and English to Spanish.

• Correctional custody, psychological evaluation, clinical assessment,
  
  

Or Counseling Experience Preferred.

• Achievement of Level IV or V on the Language Assessment Scales in
  
  

Spanish and English administered by the Texas Department of Criminal

Justice.

• The salary for an ERS Retiree (or non-contributing member) will
  
  

be $4,008.44.**
