For more than 36,000 dedicated public servants, our mission is to provide public safety, promote positive change in offender behavior, reintegrate offenders into society and assist victims of crime. The Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) is the Lone Star State’s largest state agency and manages more than 146,000 offenders in state prisons, state jails and private correctional facilities that contract with the TDCJ. The agency also provides funding and certain oversight of community supervision and is responsible for the supervision of offenders released from prison on parole or mandatory supervision.

She has held every ranking position at multiple units throughout the state of Texas. Most recently, Ms. Chevalier held the title of Senior Warden at the Stiles Unit. Her dedication and passion is visible through the level of commitment and integrity she exhibits day in and day out, inspiring others through her work ethic. Throughout her career, she has made an impact on those she comes into contact with, providing staff with correctional wisdom and guidance. The leadership and interpersonal skills possessed by Ms. Chevalier have made her an invaluable asset to the agency. Please join us in congratulating Parole Deputy Division Director Jennifer Robinson on her retirement after 25 years of service to the state of Texas!🌟 Ms. Robinson began her career with TDCJ in 1998 as a Parole Officer at the Conroe DPO and later promoted to Unit Supervisor at the Huntsville DPO. She held many leadership positions within the division, including Assistant Section Director for the Huntsville Placement and Release Unit and Section Director of Review and Release Processing. In 2016, Ms. Robinson was promoted to Deputy Division Director where she has helped oversee field and central operations. For 35 years, Marvin Dunbar has dedicated his career to the agency, starting as a Correctional Officer in 1989. Through hard work and determination, he rose through the ranks, becoming a Program Specialist V in 2004 and later serving as Deputy Division Director for the Rehabilitation Programs Division. He now serves as the Director of the Administrative Review and Risk Management Division. Mr. Dunbar's leadership and expertise have been instrumental in maintaining the agency's critical operations. Please join us in congratulating Region II Director Carol Monroe on his retirement after 30 years of service! Mr. Monroe began his career with TDCJ in 1994 as a Correctional Officer at the Pack Unit. Throughout his three decades of service, he promoted through the ranks and held every uniformed supervisor position at various units throughout the state. In February 2019, Mr. Monroe promoted to the Region VI Director, before transitioning to Region II in 2022. The correctional knowledge Mr. Monroe possesses, coupled with the support and mentorship he provides to staff, have been an invaluable asset to the agency throughout his tenure. Mr. Monroe has always tackled challenges head on, with an unwavering commitment to his staff, his peers, and this agency.
