Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Fundraising to lead our fundraising efforts and drive strategic initiatives to secure funding for our organization. The Head of Fundraising will be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies, cultivating donor relationships, overseeing grant applications, and managing fundraising events. This role requires a deep understanding of fundraising techniques, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to inspire and lead a team of fundraising professionals.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Develop Fundraising Strategy:
    • Create and execute comprehensive fundraising plans to achieve annual revenue targets.
    • Identify key fundraising opportunities and innovative strategies to diversify funding sources.
  • Donor Cultivation and Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and other potential funding sources.
    • Develop personalized cultivation strategies and stewardship plans for key donors.
  • Grant Management:
    • Oversee the grant application process from research and proposal writing to reporting and compliance.
    • Ensure timely submission of high-quality grant proposals and reports.
  • Fundraising Events and Campaigns:
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising events, including donor appreciation events, galas, and community outreach programs.
    • Manage fundraising campaigns, including direct mail, online giving, and peer-to-peer fundraising efforts.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of fundraising professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve fundraising goals.
    • Collaborate effectively with senior leadership, program managers, and board members to align fundraising efforts with organizational priorities.
  • Budget Management and Reporting:
    • Develop and manage the fundraising budget, ensuring effective resource allocation and financial oversight.
    • Prepare regular reports on fundraising progress, metrics, and outcomes for the executive team and board of directors.
  • Compliance and Ethics:
    • Ensure fundraising activities comply with all relevant regulations, ethical standards, and best practices.
    • Uphold the organization’s values and mission in all fundraising efforts and communications.

Skills And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Proven track record of success in fundraising with at least 5 years of experience in a senior fundraising role.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in grant writing and donor communications.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement effective fundraising strategies.
  • Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge).
  • Knowledge of fundraising techniques and best practices in the nonprofit sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors, stakeholders, and community partners.
  • Commitment to ethical fundraising practices and compliance with relevant regulations.

Additional Information

  • This is a full-time position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required for events and donor meetings.
  • The Head of Fundraising reports directly to the Executive Director/CEO and plays a crucial role in advancing our mission and impact in the community.
