Community solar is an important solution for advancing the transition to sustainable energy sources and providing energy bill relief to lower-income communities who don't have access to rooftop solar. Yet the community solar proposal recently approved by the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) threatens to undercut those benefits. Generate has spent a decade catalyzing the #communitysolar market through our sustainable infrastructure financing and operating platform, and we want this market to continue to thrive in our home state of California through policies that adequately support its benefits. https://lnkd.in/g7APu2TW

According to a new report from the International Energy Agency (IEA), global investment in clean energy technologies and infrastructure is on pace to reach $2 trillion this year — nearly double the expected investment in fossil fuels. At Generate, we’re both celebrating this milestone and pushing for greater scale. The infrastructure transition will require more than tripling our current annual investment figures. Generate is working to bridge the gap by investing in projects and companies across sustainable infrastructure sectors. Read the report: https://lnkd.in/eV4B2RXn

Today, Generate Capital is thrilled to announce that we’re extending our commitment to nationwide clean energy project developer, owner, and operator Pine Gate Renewables through a $650 million investment alongside HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) and HESTA. The capital will be used to accelerate Pine Gate’s activities and support the financing of an incremental 3 gigawatts of clean energy infrastructure by 2025. This investment demonstrates how Generate’s one-stop-shop business model unlocks new, innovative sources of financing for our partners. We’re excited for this new era of partnership with Pine Gate and for the opportunity to further accelerate the transition to a clean economy together. Generate Capital is a proud sponsor of the Infrastructure Investor Global Summit! Yesterday our CEO, Scott Jacobs, took the stage in #Berlin alongside Laurence Monnier of 1PlanetInfra, Subahoo Chordia of Edelweiss Alternatives, Minesh Mashru, CFA of Cambridge Associates, Dr. Alexandra von Bernstorff of Luxcara, and Johan Tiselius of Infranode. During the panel, "The Rise of Impact & Transition Strategies in Global Private Infrastructure," Scott highlighted how going to the under-served parts of the energy transition, asset by asset, can deliver both market-leading returns and important environmental and social impact. With Generate’s purpose-built approach, we have been building the markets that are critical to the Infrastructure Transition with our work over the last decade. Don't miss the chance to connect with Scott and the rest of the Generate team and discover how our one-stop-shop model consistently creates both high returns and impactful outcomes across Europe and North America for many of the worlds largest institutional investors. #IIGSummit
