Frontend Manager

Our client in the health, wellness, and fitness software space is currently seeking a Manager, Front End Engineering. This is a full time role and will be 100% remote, managing a team of 5 Front End Engineers.

This role is focused on people management, and will involve coaching technical solutions for the team, setting up strategies and helping manage a team to achieve their goals. They are seeking a Frontend Development Manager who will report to their Senior Manager of Engineering. Currently, their Senior Manager has 10 direct reports (this role will take half of those).

This client hires Engineers with strong fundamentals in JavaScript who can really learn any language and work in a fast paced scrum environment. They recently migrated from Ember to React, so all new development is done in React and Javascript. 20+ scrum teams across the company, fully automated environment.

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years in Web Development or Software Engineering, with proven management skills running a software development team
• Focus on leadership and coaching, while being able to remain hands on when needed
• Experience working with teams developing enterprise level websites and apps
• Understanding of accessibility and performance metrics, as well as web analytics
• Experience writing clean, reusable, optimized, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Strong fundamentals in JavaScript, and at least one framework (Angular, React, Vue or Ember)
• Time management skills
• Experience working in a fast paced agile scrum environment
• Healthcare industry experience is a plus
• BA or BS degree in any field is required
