The Work for Warriors GA program of the Georgia National Guard Military Family Support Branch is searching for a full-time Employment Coordinator to provide support to our employment team.

Recruiters are often traveling locally or working remote.


An ideal candidate works well with a team, prior service or understanding of the military community, and can meet deadlines while operating independently.


Location: Cumming, GA

Close date: July 19th, 2024 at 5 p.m. EST

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule interviews for Candidates as needed and follow up as necessary.
  • Generate reports based on defined performance metrics.
  • Counsel and assist Candidates in translating skills and experience to targeted jobs.
  • Sourcing and matching Employer's workforce needs with qualified Guard, Reserve, and Veteran Military personnel, retirees, and family members.
  • Accurate and timely entry of candidate information into database.
  • Coordinate events to brief units on the program.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
  • Maintain and post positions on job board.


Requirements:


  • Some college, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to multi-task

  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships
  • Flexible and can change task easily
  • Excellent organizational skills; demonstrate ability to meet deadlines, manage time effectively

Specific Tasks:

Each Employment Coordinator:


  • Provide outreach to Reserve Component Members and their Families in order to provide a variety of transitional services. Transitional services assist Reserve Component personnel returning from full time military service and re-entering the civilian community, particularly with employment


  • Network with community business leaders, economic development officials, Technical Colleges, and community Alliances, Community Working Groups, Task Forces depending on the organizations that exist within their region to provide information and/or resources to organizations that connect individuals, groups, and organizations for employment opportunities.


  • Be knowledgeable on all state and federal programs available to support the needs of the Service and their Family Members.


  • Be significantly familiar with all programs available to provide quality referrals to support the needs of the Service and their Family Members.


  • Provide employment options and assistance through case management services. Serve as the information conduit for employment assistance to units, individuals, and Families at pre-mobilization events and throughout the deployment cycle. Provide information about military educational benefits as they apply to local trade schools and academic institutions.


  • Provide career support, development, and maintenance of civilian based careers. Specific services include resume writing assistance and interview skills coaching.


  • Participate in Yellow Ribbon Deployment Cycle Support Program(s) to include mobilization, during deployment, demobilization and post deployment activities, providing employment assistance services.


  • Maintain regular contact with community leaders, employers, labor unions, training programs, and organizations for the purpose of (A) keeping them advised of eligible Members available for employment and training, and (B) keeping eligible Members advised of opportunities for employment and training.


  • Provide individual coaching to ensure resources are accessed and employment outcomes are achieved.    Refer eligible Members to training, supportive services, and educational opportunities, as appropriate. Conduct appropriate workshops to train Service Members of all Reserve Components, their Families with the skills necessary to access local employment and training opportunities. Provide resume assistance and create job search solutions - each case has the individual level of assistance necessary. Compile and provide education, employment and community based resources to Service Members of all components, their Families to enhance quality of life issues and avail employment and training opportunities to Service Members, their Families within their local community. Contractor personnel shall not serve as representatives or employees of the GAARNG, the Department of Defense or any of its Component


  • Provide follow-up contact on referrals and as needed, provide additional assistance and/or referrals.


  • Provide those eligible with program materials and information related to a variety of programs assisting Service members and their Families.


  • Conduct site visits to outside agencies within the assigned geographical area to gain insight into services provided.


  • Conduct after referral surveys with Service members and their family members and provide an assessment regarding success of those services.


  • Be knowledgeable regarding other services available through GANG Military Family Support Branch and the G1Office (Recruiting and Retention, and Education and Incentives services) and provide referrals and information resources as necessary.


  • Brief all units within their assigned territory.


Qualifications:

1 Position to be filled as an Employment Coordinator in the Cumming, GA area:


At various GA National Guard armory locations across the state. Possess additional military experience directly related to the requirements outlined in the technical specifications, has a working understanding of the position functions, and has sufficient knowledge to perform the work of the position described in the technical specifications. Should have public speaking or sales related experience.  Military experience is preferred.


-       A background in sales, previous recruiting experience, or military transition support, is a preferred skillset for this position.


-       Demonstrated experience with Military Family benefits and familiarity with Military Family challenges is highly desired.


-      The contractor shall demonstrate knowledge of the following programs: Family Readiness Program (AR/NGB 600-12) Suicide Prevention and Awareness Programs Resiliency programs, Military Educational Benefits and Incentive programs.


-      Comprehensive knowledge of administrative policies, procedures, regulations, and directives, and other National Guard Bureau and GA Family related programs to provide recommendations, develop technical user manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and course instruction materials.


-       Skilled in oral and written communication to convey information, provide briefings to outside civilian agencies, explain issues to management, individuals and/or groups to accept a position or recommendations and accomplish objectives with which they might initially disagree or are hesitant to accept.


-       A base knowledge of the differenced in Active Duty, US Reserve Forces, and the US National Guard, with a detailed understanding of the units within the Georgia Army and Air National Guard.


Travel: Travel to other government facilities and to client meetings at a variety of locations in the state shall be required. All travel requirements (including plans, agenda, itinerary, or dates) shall be pre-approved by the government (subject to local policy procedures), and is on a strictly cost reimbursable basis. Any costs submitted for reimbursement shall be supported by receipts.
