Director of Corporate Finance

Job Title: Director of Corporate Finance and Fund Accounting

The Director will lead our Corporate Finance and Fund Accounting teams, reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, while being groomed for the CFO role. This role will oversee accounting and reporting for corporate entities, private equity investments, and direct real estate investments, while also supporting the general accounting and reporting functions for the firm's real estate investment funds.

Responsibilities:

• Provide key support to the Chief Financial Officer.
• Oversee accounting, investor reporting, and tax filings for corporate entities and investments.
• Develop and manage annual budgets and quarterly lender reporting.
• Handle corporate cash management, invoice approvals, collections, and owner distributions.
• Supervise payroll funding, 401(k) administration, and worker compensation audits.
• Manage tax estimates and planning for the owner.
• Ensure compliance with treasury activities, policies, and internal controls.
• Direct corporate and investment fund audits.
• Review quarterly financial statements for investment funds.
• Support capital planning and structuring acquisitions, dispositions, and joint ventures.
• Review loan agreements and monitor debt compliance.
• Implement process improvements for internal controls and reporting.
• Research industry standards and their impact on financial reporting.
• Plan future staffing needs and mentor staff.
• Assist in developing new real estate products.
• Prepare special reports and analyze trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
• 10+ years of relevant accounting experience within the real estate industry.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Open-end fund reporting experience preferred.
• General understanding of tax reporting and compliance for private REITs, real estate partnerships, and S corps.
• Must be a team player, strong communicator, and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills required.
