Position Overview: This role will oversee the surveillance and monitoring of Rockbridge’s portfolio of highly structured loans to ensure both quality and efficiency of the loan monitoring and asset management functions. This role works within the Investment team and cross functionally across other teams including Finance, Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and Senior Management.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain a robust set of loan surveillance guidelines, performance metrics, and standards to address potential risks, highlight underlying issues, and escalate material considerations to borrower performance across the loan portfolio.
When necessary, ensure appropriate actions are taken to manage risk, minimize losses, and assign at-risk loans to a watch list in a timely manner.
Make recommendations and communications for loan modifications, restructurings, or other deal-related items.
Maintain strong rapport and relationships with borrowers and financing partners, as applicable, throughout the life of a loan.
Implement and/or improve (if necessary) standard team processes and procedures.
Monitor property business plans, monthly operating performance, and capital projects.
Ensure high quality, responsive and timely deliverables, and analyses.
Confirm that all loan analyses provide sufficient detail, analytics, and insights necessary for Rockbridge to make fully informed decisions.
Partner with other Rockbridge business units to evaluate borrower surveillance issues.
Identify performance trends and potential enhancements so that such items can be analyzed and incorporated into the servicer process.
Strong understanding of legal documents and ability to summarize deal structures and terms.
Develop trust and mutual respect within the organization and industry.
Successfully manage multiple priorities, working under deadlines, and handling both short term and long-term objectives.
Job Requirements:
7+ years of relevant experience.
An undergraduate degree in business, finance, economics, management or real estate; MBA or graduate degree a plus.
Experience with real estate finance and private equity preferred.
Debt capital markets experience.
Strategic thinker / ability to implement processes, manage risk, and grow the business.
Extensive experience in real estate credit, risk analysis, and structuring to mitigate risk.
Strong skill set related to debt investment structures.
Team player with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple team members in a matrixed organization.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, well-organized, and results-driven professional.
Legal knowledge and the ability to interpret, implement, and negotiate loan documents.
Strong communication skills and ability to handle difficult conversations.
