The Development Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the fundraising efforts of the Ali Forney Center. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills. This role involves assisting in meeting preparation, managing data entry, leading acknowledgment processes, invoicing, prospect research, donor outreach, volunteer days, and coordinating in-kind donations. Top Responsibilities
Meeting Preparation:
Assist in preparing for development meetings by organizing necessary materials, coordinating necessary research, and ensuring all relevant documents are readily available. Coordinating meeting details for individual, corporate and foundation meetings. 2. Data Entry:
Support the development team by managing data entry needs, with a focus on donor research, meeting notes, and learning the importance of moves management systems. This
would be in coordination with the Deputy Executive Director of Development and President and Executive Director.
Acknowledgment Process:
Lead the acknowledgment process which is critical to building meaningful connection between our donors and the Ali Forney Center.
Invoicing:
Facilitate the creation and support of invoices to our partners who have pledged support for our work. Include reminder correspondence to donors, partners of payment updates of donations. This is in collaboration with key fundraisers on the team.
Prospect Research:
Assist in conducting prospect research for Individual Donors, Corporations, and Foundations, providing valuable insights to enhance fundraising strategies. Valuable experience will be gained while building a strategy in collaboration with top fundraisers. 6. Donor Outreach:
Support donor outreach efforts, including making minimal phone calls and assisting in sending mailers to maintain and strengthen relationships with supporters.
In-Kind Donations Coordination:
Coordinate the process of in-kind donations between donors and key department leads, ensuring seamless communication and efficient handling of contributions.
Social Media Support:
Support the agency’s effort to engage with the wider community through social media.
Education Requirements

Experience within the non-profit development field is more important than formal educational requirements.
Technical Skill Requirements
Computer knowledge and competent communication skills.
