Brief Description

The Commercial Manager oversees Resolve’s commercial activities including business development, marketing, tendering for projects, contract management and commercial oversight of salvage and wreck removal projects worldwide. Work is performed in close coordination with regional offices and other departments within the organization.

Position Responsibilities

  • Independently develop commercial offers for small to medium size projects, coordinating with the assets and operations divisions.
  • Work with bid teams to develop creative commercial / pricing strategies.
  • Negotiate and manage Client contracts and Subcontractor Agreements.
  • Supervise the project coordinators’ and commercial coordinators’ project and office-based workload with respect to cost control, billing, and subcontractor management.
  • Work closely with legal counsel (internal / external) on all contractual and legal matters related to salvage and wreck contracts.
  • Maintain close coordination with the company’s financial team to understand and present revenue / profit status throughout the year.
  • Participate as a rotating On-Call Commercial Duty Offer to field Emergency Response calls.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for shipowners and insurance companies in the event of an Emergency Response event.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships in the insurance and shipping industries.
  • Manage and develop third party and subcontractor network.
  • Obtain and share market intelligence industry news.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, Maritime Academy degree, or equivalent and relevant experience
  • Minimum 5-years’ experience in commercial management, chartering, ship brokerage, seagoing/mariner experience, shipping, or related discipline
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically in Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Prior experience as a people leader strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and effective communicator, as well as situational awareness, is a must. Ability to establish a productive and effective method of communication regardless of the situation, both verbally and in writing, with key stakeholders and at all levels.
  • Must be able to manage, develop and execute on competing priorities while under pressure.
  • Deadline oriented and the ability to execute to the delivery date.
  • Must be a team player and a collaborative member of engagement.
  • Proven dedication and success in chasing and executing work as part of a collective team effort and champion team wins, rather than an individual win.
  • Must accept and appreciate a multi-cultural organization, as well as productively work in diversity settings to appreciate the differences and the global process engagement that will come from it,
  • An influential and persuasive leader that fosters consensus to gain agreement on plans, ideas and produces swiftly during the various phases of work.

Travel Requirement

Up to 20% travel is required. If additional travel is required beyond the specified amount, based on the operational demand, you will be notified accordingly so arrangements can be made.
