Azure Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION: SAIC is seeking an experienced Azure Administrator in support of a managed services engagement for a major Public Sector account. The successful candidate will join a team of Administrators responsible for managing our client’s Windows, Linux, Azure, and M365 services and systems. You will be required to install and manage IaaS services, PaaS services, M365 services, Active Directory, Exchange including and not limited to -- performance tuning, storage management, backup and recovery, security, and operational and application support. Along with the rest of the team this position will be on rotation 7x24 on-call support duties.

The incumbent should have extensive experience with Windows and Linux Administrative tooling, excellent problem-solving skills, and hands-on experience in all aspects listed above.

What you will bring:

- Qualifications:

o Bachelors and 3-6 years or more experience; Four additional years' experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

o Certification in one or more of following; Azure Solution Architect Expert, DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator, or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator

- Must be able to pass the California Department of Justice and FBI background check process.

- USPV+ REQUIREMENT: USPV+: will be a requirement; Supplier to pay for

- Can’t start or get equipment shipped until this is completed during onboarding.

- Experience and Skills:

- Administration of Azure Services including but not limited to:

o Implementing, monitoring, and maintaining Azure solutions related to IaaS, PaaS services (compute, storage, network, and security)

o Working knowledge of container-based infrastructure on Azure (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AKS, etc.)

o Backup, Recovery, HA solutions for Azure environments

o Experience in development using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (PowerShell, Python, Azure CLI, JSON, Bicep etc.)

o Creating and maintaining infrastructure components within Azure Pipelines using Azure Devops

- Windows Server administration including installation, configuration, upgrades, migration, and patching.

- Linux Server administration including configuration, upgrades, migration, and patching.

- Troubleshooting and resolving, application infrastructure, connectivity, and security issues in Azure and On-Prem environments

- Troubleshoot server related performance issues related to resources e.g., CPU, memory, disk, and other resources.

- Strong understanding and background in administration of an Active Directory and Entra (Azure AD) environment including managing Group Policy and Azure Policies

- Knowledge in DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, and Windows Auth

- Knowledge of VPN connectivity and client troubleshooting

- Administering Exchange Online and Office 365

- Incident, Change, Problem, and Configuration Mgmt. using ServiceNow.

- VMWare Administration.

- On-Premises Exchange Administration

- Veritas NetBackup Administration

- Storage Administration (NetApp)

What you will do:

- Manage On-Premises hosting Infrastructure (Compute, Storage, VMWare) and Server instances of Windows and Linux

- Manage Azure Tenants, Subscriptions, and IaaS, PaaS, SaaS resources in multiple regions.

- Work with Cloud Architect, and Infrastructure resources is designing Application environments in Azure for new and migrating applications.

- Manage Active Directory and Azure Entra services.

- Manage O365 services including Exchange Online

- Manage Backup and Recovery for On-Premises and Azure resources and services.

- Perform Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration Management functions.

- Provide on call support, ensuring system stability and prompt issue resolution.

o This is a small team, and they are on the on-call rotation. When performing on-call duties emphasis is on service availability, performance, change management and SLA support
