Role Value Proposition:

This role is for Assistant Vice President - End-to-End Data Footprint Assessment and Modernization

for Data Modernization.

We are in search of an experienced and strategic-minded adept leader to spearhead the End-to-End (E2E) Data Footprint Assessment and Modernization at MetLife. In this role, you will leverage your deep understanding of the MetLife ecosystem, technology design and architecture to define data rationalization criteria, develop modernization roadmaps, and implement data integration solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving efficiencies, reducing complexity, and enhancing interoperability across our data systems and platforms. This role demands a strategic thinker with a knack for collaborating with diverse stakeholders, influencing decision-making, and delivering pragmatic solutions. The ideal candidate will focus on driving value creation aligned with business outcomes, prioritizing MVPs (Minimum Viable Products) and ensuring seamless interoperability across systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand MetLife ecosystem thoroughly, including processes, systems, and data flows.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data pain points and structures.
  • Develop strategic roadmap for end-to-end data modernization aligned with business objectives.
  • Define criteria for data rationalization, reducing complexity and improving efficiency.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of current data footprint.
  • Prioritize modernization efforts based on impact, feasibility, and resources.
  • Implement data integration solutions for seamless sharing and interoperability.
  • Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with standards.
  • Influence decision-making by communicating value proposition effectively.
  • Develop pragmatic solutions addressing immediate needs while laying foundation for long term goals
  • Align data modernization efforts with business objectives and key performance indicators.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate impact of initiatives, optimizing value delivery.
  • Champion implementation of data integration solutions for seamless collaboration.
  • Employ data-driven approach to identify MVPs and refine solutions iteratively.


Required:

  • 10+ years of Experience in Technology and Data
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related field
  • Deep understanding of insurance industry practices and context
  • In-depth understanding of the MetLife ecosystem, including business processes, systems, and data infrastructure
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to define data rationalization criteria and develop modernization roadmaps.
  • Proficiency in data integration technologies and standards, with hands-on experience in implementing solutions to enable interoperability.
  • Extensive experience in design and architecture roles, with a proven track record of leading complex data modernization initiatives within large organizations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience with data migration initiatives, preferably to cloud-based platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Good understanding of data management principles, including data management, governance, data modeling etc.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles with a focus on data modernization, design, architecture, and stakeholder management within complex organizational environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a pragmatic approach to solution development and value delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, prioritize initiatives based on business impact, and drive execution in alignment with organizational objectives.


The salary range for applicants for this position is $157,000-$200,000.
