Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and passionate QA Associate Test Manager to join our dynamic team in the video game industry. As a QA Associate Test Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and integrity of our game titles throughout the development lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and complete test plans, handle test processes, and drive the overall quality assurance strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Test Planning and Strategy:
    • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define test objectives, scope, and strategies for assigned game titles.
    • Develop comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts to ensure thorough coverage of game features, functionalities, and performance metrics.
    • Identify and prioritize test requirements based on project achievements, goals, and risk assessments.
  • Test Execution and Management:
    • Be responsible for the execution of test plans and test cases across multiple platforms and devices, including PC, consoles, and mobile devices.
    • Coordinate with QA testers to ensure timely and accurate execution of test cases, supervising defects and issues through resolution.
    • Monitor test progress, provide regular status updates, and advance critical issues to project collaborators as needed.
  • Quality Assurance Processes:
    • Implement and maintain best practices for quality assurance processes, methodologies, and tools within the QA team.
    • Continuously evaluate and improve testing workflows to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits of test documentation, processes, and results to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with development teams, product managers, and other collaborators to understand project requirements, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
    • Collaborate with game designers, artists, and programmers to provide feedback on gameplay, user interface, and technical performance from a quality assurance perspective.
    • Champion a collaborative and communicative environment to facilitate efficient problem-solving and decision-making across teams.
    • Provide regular updates on progress/risks to QA management.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to QA testers, fostering their professional growth and development.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
    • Encourage a positive and inclusive work culture that values diversity, creativity, and innovation.


Qualifications

  • Validated experience in quality assurance/testing roles within the video game industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management capacity.
  • Strong understanding of game development processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in test planning, test case design, and test execution across multiple platforms and devices.
  • Familiarity with testing tools, bug tracking systems, and quality assurance methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for gaming and a commitment to delivering high-quality, immersive gaming experiences.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of performance testing, compatibility testing, and localization testing.
  • Experience with game certification processes (e.g., TRC, TCR, LotCheck) for major gaming platforms.
  • Relevant certifications in software quality assurance/testing (e.g., ISTQB, CSTE) would be a plus.
