Our staffing agency represents a privately held 3PL logistics and supply chain firm experiencing incredible growth.


This early-stage startup, based in the northeast and recently awarded with $5M in seed funding, is recognized as a prominent player in the supply chain sector. They are currently seeking a Business Development Manager to secure large, net-new deals ($250k and above). While the role is remote, candidates must reside in a preferred metro area, with preference given to those in the Eastern U.S.

Role


* Individual contributor, working from your home office. In office visits once or twice per month.

* $100k - $120k base salary, commensurate with your experience. Uncapped commissions, with

double OTE first year.

* Must have 5 years of experience in the 3PL services market.

* Must be able to bring over an existing book of significant business.

*We are looking for a hunter mentality who is not afraid of the phone.

* 25% travel, and territory is the entire United States.

* Startup experience moves you to the top of the list.



Official Job Description


Position Overview:


The Business Development Manager will contact new businesses by contacting new and existing customers. This role will lead front-end engagement, set up and conduct presentations, and work with executive management to secure business. The role will also be instrumental for up to 90 days post-sale to ensure proper management and handoff of the customer.


Top Four Candidate Characteristics:

· Self-Starter and independent worker

· Must have 3PL experience.

· Must have a current book of business to bring to the position.

· Experience and desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, startup environment.


Responsibilities:

· Establish productive and professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customer accounts.

· Work collaboratively across internal teams, including support, service, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.

· Meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in posted accounts.

· Proactively lead a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones for one and three years.

· Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.

· Lead solution-based development efforts that best address customer needs while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.


Performance Measures:

· Achieve assigned sales quota within designated accounts.

· Meet assigned expectations for profitability.

· Achieve strategic customer objectives defined by company management.

· Complete strategic customer account plans that meet company standards.

· Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards.

· Complete required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame.


Organizational Alignment:

· Will report to the Vice President of Sales.

· Enlist the support of sales specialists, implementation resources, service resources, and other sales and management resources as needed.

· Closely coordinate company executive involvement with customer management.

· Work closely with Customer Service Representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.

· Future potential to have direct report staff assigned to support responsibilities in specific customers.


Qualifications:

· 5+ years experience in the 3PL Services market.

· Candidate must have a portable book of business and have the will to hunt.

· Ability to cold-call and make face to face appointments.


· PC proficiency, CRM, and MS Office proficiency.

· Associate degree or higher is preferred.

· Requires minimally 25% travel.

· Background check required.

· Must complete a PXT Select Sales Assessment.
