How can you turn a casual conversation into a networking opportunity?
The number one thing you can do is not sell. Going into the conversation wanting to help with zero reciprocity in mind. Not everyone is going to be a customer, but everyone can be a fan. Give more than you receive and generate value for that person without any expectation. Business karma is a thing. Be the person you want to meet at a conference or networking event.

You’re at a networking event and can’t seem to connect with anyone. What’s your next move?
Everyone loves a compliment and a familiar story, but everyone also has an immaculate bullshit detector. Sincere compliments and comments about things you can derive from the person you want to spark a conversation with is a great ice breaker. For example, if you see someone with a Cartier Nail bracelet and you are fan of Cartier compliment them and start jamming about Cartier. Another, if you see someone with Dallas Cowboys phone case. Chat to them about how Dak is terrible (I kid I kid, you get the point tho). However, if you don't know anything about the Cowboys or Cartier, don't act like you do. Find sincere compliments or interest overlaps to gracefully insert yourself into conversations and intros.

You're in charge of a B2B marketing team. How can you foster a culture of innovation?
Ownership and responsibility. I tell my team what I need and when I need it. Not how to do it, thats what the money is for. However, you need to make sure you have alignment. So when I bring on a team member, I will constantly ask what do you think my answer would be? Once they have the same answer as me, I let them cook. Even better, when the answer they give me isn't the answer I was thinking, but a BETTER ANSWER. Thats when you know you hired well. TL;DR “Don't tell people how to do things, tell them what to do and let them surprise you with their results.”
