July is Purpose Month at Zoetis, a time where we celebrate our commitment to nurturing the world and humankind by advancing care for animals. Throughout this special month, we're spotlighting colleagues worldwide who are making a difference through volunteer work and supporting their communities. This week we’re recognizing our Virtual Recall colleagues in the U.K. who recently volunteered at the Celia Cross Greyhound Trust. This non-profit organization rescues, rehabilitates and rehomes around 200 dogs annually, many of which have been abandoned, or are sick or mistreated. Our team pitched in with cleaning, gardening, grooming and lots of laundry – with cuddles and walks along the way, too. 🐾 Thank you to our colleagues, who make the difference every day. #ZoetisMeansPurpose #ZoetisProud #Volunteering

“Food is the first line of defense.” Our EVP of Corporate Affairs, Communications and Chief Sustainability Officer, Jeannette Ferran Astorga, was joined by the CEO of World Food Program USA, Barron Segar, to discuss the impact of the groundbreaking work they are doing in Kenya and Ethiopia with grant support from the Zoetis Foundation. With this grant, the Zoetis Foundation is helping build resilience for pastoralist communities through financial assistance tools such as access to insurance. These tools protect pastoralists against the financial implications of climate-related events that may impact the health of their livestock. The grant also provides increased access to veterinary services to keep livestock healthy. These approaches aim to improve the livelihoods of the pastoralist communities in Kenya and Ethiopia that rely on these animals to support their families. Barron shared that over 40,000 pastoralists have already benefitted from this program. #FoodSecurity #Sustainability

We've partnered with Adopt-a-Pet.com to strive to improve access to care and resources for pets, shelters, rescues, and veterinary healthcare teams across the United States. As part of this partnership, we announced the first group of pet welfare organizations selected as recipients for the 2024 Zoetis Petcare Product grant. Each grant recipient will receive preventatives, along with core vaccines and antibiotics needed to support healthy shelter pets while they transition to their forever homes. Today is World Zoonoses Day – let's talk about what zoonotic diseases are and how we combat them. Zoonoses are diseases, such as rabies, that can spread from animals to people, and vice versa. As part of our commitment to a healthier, more sustainable future, our scientists combat diseases like these that pose the greatest risk to animals and humans. We support critical vaccination programs around the world – including our designation by the [tag] World Organisation for Animal Health as one of the vaccine bank’s only two approved rabies vaccine suppliers. We also collaborate with local communities, veterinary professionals and public health organizations to actively monitor and work toward preventing zoonotic diseases. We recognize the growing challenges affecting animals and communities due to natural disasters. To help address these issues, we are dedicated to bolstering disaster preparedness efforts and providing aid for communities and animals impacted by disasters. The Zoetis Foundation is honored to help bring this commitment to life by providing a $3 million grant to the American Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program to be utilized over a six-year period. The grant provides essential emergency relief to families and communities globally impacted by disasters. This builds on Zoetis’ long-standing partnership with American Humane to help ensure animal safety in disaster-stricken areas and to advocate for increased preparedness among pet owners.
