Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸 As we celebrate and reflect on this day of honoring our freedoms, we encourage the brewing community to consider how they may honor the service of Veterans through the 7th Annual Veterans Blend! Yakima Chief Hops and Country Malt Group will donate $3 from every pound sold to Stop Soldier Suicide, the only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to reducing the number of U.S. Veterans and service members who die by suicide each year. For the service men and women who have sacrificed greatly on behalf of our nation, let's give back in a meaningful way that directly supports the initiatives of Stop Soldier Suicide. This year's blend includes Ekuanot®, Citra®, El Dorado®, Simcoe®, and Crystal. There are outstanding possibilities with the blend for different beer and NA beer styles! We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those who have served, or are currently serving, in protection of our freedoms. 🇺🇸 We strive to find ways to give back to those who answered the call, and we need the brewing community's help! As we approach Independence Day, now is an opportune time to reflect on ways to support our military Veterans throughout 2024 and 2025. The 7th Annual Veterans Blend, comprised of Ekuanot®, Citra®, El Dorado®, Simcoe®, and Crystal, is a hop blend dedicated to giving back to our service members. Yakima Chief Hops and Country Malt Group will donate $3 from every pound sold to Stop Soldier Suicide, the only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to reducing the number of U.S. Veterans and service members who die by suicide each year. Your brewery can make an impact and give back by planning for holiday and day of remembrance releases such as: - Veterans Day (Nov. 11, 2024) - Vietnam Veterans Day (March 29, 2025) - National Military Appreciation Month (May) - Mental Health Awareness Month (May) - Armed Forces Day (May 17) - Memorial Day (May 26, 2025) - Women Veterans Day (June 12, 2025) - National PTSD Awareness Day (June 27) - Independence Day (July 4, 2025) YCH encourages brewers to further their impact by coordinating with local Veterans on their brew day or draft release, donating a portion of sales to a Veteran-supporting non-profit, or using their beer label or menu description to raise awareness for Stop Soldier Suicide or other Veteran-focused non-profits. Place your pre-order: https://bit.ly/4b8FW5W Veterans Blend pre-order ends Aug. 26th.

Brew your support for our nation's Veterans with the 7th Annual Veterans Blend! Yakima Chief Hops and Country Malt Group will donate $3 from every pound sold to Stop Soldier Suicide, the only national non-profit organization dedicated solely to reducing the number of U.S. Veterans and service members who die by suicide each year. Stop Soldier Suicide is working to reduce that number to achieve a future where our nation's Veterans and service members are at no greater risk for suicide than any other American. The blend will be available to pre-order from June 24th-Aug. 26th. Secure your volume to ensure availability and delivery in time for Veterans Day brew plans. The hop blend profile is selected by military Veterans in the beer industry. This delightfully juicy blend will include Ekuanot®, Citra®, El Dorado®, Simcoe®, and Crystal. There is no denying that the hop growing community has experienced ups and downs between beer booms and global regressions. However, one of the ways that we remain sustainable and balanced is through strong Return-to-Grower percentages. Return-to-Grower (RTG) is the dollar amount given back to the farms for the sale of their hops. We have established the RTG program with 75% of our income being given back to our family farms regardless of the state of the market. A high-end RTG enables the multi-generational family farms that grow YCH hops to reinvest in infrastructure, equipment, and people which is critical to seeing the farms continue for future generations. Double 'R' Hop Ranches, Inc. shares how Yakima Chief Hops' Return-To-Grower program has added value by being able to improve facilities related to quality of product, food safety, worker welfare, and sustainability.

At Yakima Chief Hops, we are committed to leading proactive land stewardship through storytelling, education, and advocacy. Our dedication to regenerative agriculture is reflected in our Green Chief® Program, which promotes sustainable practices that benefit our growers and the environment. There has long been a misconception that agriculture negatively impacts the environment and that crops only take from the land. But what if we told you there's an approach to farming that contributes to the land while still allowing farmers to reap a bountiful harvest? It's called regenerative agriculture. Read our recent blog "The Role of Regenerative Agriculture in Sustainable Hop Production" to learn the importance of regenerative agriculture in the beer industry and its potential to mitigate the effects of climate change associated with traditional farming practices.
