We’re thrilled to share World Vision’s new multi-sector resilience framework and other resources released at the Road to Resilience webinar, which was hosted by Serena Stepanovic, World Vision Associate Vice President for Food Security and Livelihoods! Dive into these resources to discover impactful strategies for your work!    Special thanks to our keynote speakers and industry experts from USAID, FAO, Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture, Tulane University, TANGO International Inc., International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and Institute of Development Studies for your insights into and support for this framework designed to build resilience and sustain impact on vulnerable communities worldwide. https://lnkd.in/e5rQffVf

Did you miss the Road to Resilience webinar? What a time we had. Thanks so much to the 200 attendees who shared the moment with us yesterday, including bilateral and multi-later donors, university faculty and students, #HDP implementing partners, and representatives from multiple branches of U.S. government. For those who couldn't be there, here's a snapshot: #USAID's Mia Beers shared some of the key learnings that have resulted in USAID's updated resilience policy. FAO's Jocelyn G. Brown Hall talked about the role of resilience approaches in responding to the growing tide of humanitarian need, and Simon Winter of Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture highlighted the critical role of corporate foundations, agribusinesses and farmers themselves in pursuing viable pathways toward resilience. Research experts from Tulane University International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) TANGO International Inc. and the Institute of Development Studies also provided incredibly rich insights on what we are learning--and what we still need to understand—about making gains towards more resilient families, communities and systems. This included discussion on #agrifoodsystems resilience, successes using #graduationmodels and evidence of the protective effects of resilience approaches in mitigating negative coping mechanism in the face of emerging, climate-related shocks. We heard from Margaret Schuler and Mona A. Davies about #WorldVision’s commitment to #transformationaldevelopment, and the role that #THRIVE (a multi-country, market-systems focused program) plays in catalyzing resilience in 11 countries. And it was my distinct privilege to introduce World Vision’s new systems-focused, multi-sectoral framework and white paper for resilience; a companion literature review by Tulane University; and 3 OTHER PUBLICATIONS on range of related themes. Want to know more? You can find these publications and more here: https://lnkd.in/ev8d2_vu HUGE THANK YOU to all of our keynote and research speakers and to the world vision team that made this moment possible. Today marks the 70th anniversary of USAID’s #FoodforPeace, a program instrumental in fighting global hunger and fostering #resilience among the world’s most vulnerable populations. We are proud to partner with USAID and leverage #FFP support to implement sustainable, impactful programs that are transforming lives. FFP has enabled World Vision to create lasting change through many initiatives, like these: 🔸 The Nobo Jatra Project in Bangladesh: With USAID funding, World Vision is focusing on improving food security, nutrition, and resilience among vulnerable communities in the southwest part of the country. From enhancing nutrition for children and pregnant women to promoting equitable agricultural production, this project has reached over 53,000 individuals and established dozens of Village Savings and Loans Associations. The result? Improved dietary diversity, better health outcomes, and sustained economic growth. 🔸 Innovative Agricultural Models in the Democratic Republic of Congo: Through FFP funding, World Vision initiatives in resilient agriculture, health, and governance have restored land, increased land access, and increased family incomes. Through permagardens and rabbit farming, families now enjoy better food diversity and economic independence. Additionally, our media campaigns and community engagement strategies have raised awareness and encouraged best practices in health and agriculture. 🔸 Building Resilience and Recovery in South Sudan: FFP funding has allowed us to strengthen livelihoods, improve nutrition, and enhance community cohesion in South Sudan. From distributing livelihood inputs and promoting post-harvest handling to establishing mother-to-mother support groups, our comprehensive approach as reached over 34,000 households, surpassing many of our targets and fostering resilience in the face of adversity. These are just a few examples of the transformative impact of World Vision programs that leverage FFP support. As we celebrate this milestone, we urge for continued funding and support for Food for Peace to sustain and expand these lifechanging initiatives. Together, we can build a world where everyone has access to nutritious food, resilient livelihoods, and brighter futures. #SustainableDevelompent #ResilienceBuilding #HumanitarianAid #InnovationInAction #70YearsofImpact

Through the Gifts-In-Kind (GIK) program, World Vision Zambia recently donated essential medical supplies to the Kazungula District Health Office under the Nyawa Area Programme to enhance the delivery of health services. These supplies include needles, safety needles, disposable syringes, bicycles, and tables. These items will support healthcare workers and improve the community's well-being.
