The future is bright!🔆 Anabela and Dércio, interns with the USAID SABER program, are supporting students while gaining new skills of their own. Anabela does monitoring and evaluation, "working with tools and learning more about how the academic and student and teacher analysis processes are carried out." Her experience at SABER has developed her technical skills and her self confidence, making her well prepared for the job market. Dércio is using his degree in mathematics to support the SABER team. He's building his skills working with data and digital technologies and strengthening his teamwork and collaboration abilities. “This experience opened me up to new perspectives and prepared me for the challenges of a teaching career,” he shared.

Did you know that new #AbilityToBenefit (ATB) regulations went into effect as of July 1, 2024? These changes include 1) a new federal approval process for Eligible Career Pathway Programs, 2) demonstrated alignment between #PostsecondaryEducation and #AdultEducation providers, and 3) a new application and implementation process for states pursuing the state defined process option. View detailed guidance from the U.S. Department of Education on these changes: https://lnkd.in/gzsfj5ny And in case you missed it, don’t forget to join World Education, Corporation for a Skilled Workforce (CSW), and the University of Pittsburgh this Wednesday, July 10, 2:00 p.m. Eastern, for a webinar on CSW’s ATB pilot project, A2B4Equity: Increasing Access to Federal Aid through Ability to Benefit! A warm welcome to UNOPS! Our team in #Mozambique and consortium of partners under the MozNorte project were happy to welcome representatives from funder UNOPS. We visited the offices of partner AENA and shared our progress so far, and then met with a participating community to discuss how the project can continue meeting their needs. UNOPS noted the communities' ownership of the project, and during a visit to the District Administrator, we discussed opportunities for future collaboration with local governments. How can we increase access to #PostsecondaryEducation for adult learners? The #AbilityToBenefit (ATB) provision in the Higher Education Act gives adults without a high school diploma or equivalent access to federal student aid. ATB is a critical strategy for ensuring equitable access to postsecondary education for adults who are simultaneously working to complete their high school diploma or equivalent. Unfortunately, ATB is poorly understood and massively underutilized, in no small part due to the fluctuation of legislative approval. ATB evolved throughout the 1990s and early 2000s and was followed by a period of confusion in the 2010s. In the past decade, ATB has seen progress! Our National College Transition Network (NCTN) has led and supported multiple projects to advance the uptake of ATB in recent years. For the rest of July, we’ll be posting weekly with updates and resources on ATB. In the meantime, visit the NCTN ATB page to read our blog series and learn more about ATB: https://lnkd.in/gAvzAaxU

To support #DigitalLiteracy for thousands of adult learners, we led 25 #Boston adult education and training programs through a comprehensive needs assessment and action planning process. Supported by coaching and professional development, each program made substantial progress in recognizing and addressing gaps in their approach to integrating technology and digital literacy. Each developed 5 #EdTech strategy routines, published in this library: https://lnkd.in/gSAWkMeJ “We have made some immediate changes to our [student enrollment] application based on the work we did on the needs assessment. It's already been helpful in meeting with prospective students!” - Participant
