WCS’s Dr. Erwan Sola is a coral reef ecologist working to monitor and manage Mozambique’s climate-resilient coral reefs through MERMAID. He hopes that data will one day “tell a story of reef recovery in many key biodiversity areas.” https://bit.ly/4eXlWGN #ForCoral

Our nearly 4,000 diverse, passionately committed team members in New York City and around the world work collectively to achieve our conservation mission.

Incredible new footage of Cross River #gorillas — the world’s rarest. There are only about 300 left found along the Nigeria-Cameroon border. So inspiring to see this many and the 4 females all have infants on their backs! This success is a credit to the collaboration with 9 communities in the Mbe Mountain area. Great news! We just deployed 7 acoustic recorders as part of a NYSERDA-funded New York Bight (NYB) passive acoustic monitoring project. We are monitoring for whale and ocean noise within the NYB offshore wind lease areas. What we learn will help with management decisions.
