Congratulations to Jennifer Aultman and Louise Valentine as each took their oath of office to the Westerville City School District Board of Education on Monday. This is Aultman's second four-year term and the first four-year term for Valentine on the school board.

✨JOB OPENING SPOTLIGHT✨: Adapted physical education teacher (https://lnkd.in/gHbb3rwq) Westerville North High School hosted its second annual AllN Olympics, where students with multiple disabilities across the district’s three high schools come together for an inclusive sporting event. WNHS athletes served as their support peers, running each event and helping the AllN Olympians through each activity. David Harchar, the district's adapted physical education teacher, created the physical activities at each station for the AllN Olympians. All throughout Westerville City Schools, groups of girls in the Ruling Our eXperiences, Inc. (ROX) program are gathering to navigate the challenges of adolescence, learning how to feel confident, standing up for themselves and making good decisions. This year, the ROX program has expanded and is now in 17 schools as part of a district-wide effort to provide opportunities for every girl to participate in a ROX group — if they are interested — from the fifth-grade to their senior year in high school. Loney joined up to 400 band directors from across the country to march in the annual parade on Nov. 23 as part of the Saluting America’s Band Directors Marching Band. The advisor for Westerville North High School's Young Feminist Club didn't have to look too far to find a speaker who could lead a hands-on workshop to empower students and help them learn practical life skills that can keep them safe. Nikki Edwards, head custodian at Hawthorne Elementary, recently volunteered to give lessons on automotive maintenance, demonstrating multiple how-to’s: how to change a tire, check the radiator, add window fluid and replace a light bulb in their car.
