While on his route, he realized the local animal shelter was flooding due to a water main break and alerted the fire department. Thanks to his prompt action, all animals were safely evacuated. In recognition of our conservation-related work, we are proud to share that we received Wildlife Habitat Council’s 2024 Corporate Conservation Leadership Award! In addition, our El Sobrante Landfill and Wildlife Preserve team won the Gold Program of the Year Award and the Rocky Areas Project Award, all presented at WHC’s annual conference. By transforming land into certified wildlife habitats, we promote sustainability, wildlife preservation, biodiversity and environmental education at over 70 WHC-certified sites across North America. The American Red Cross Texas Gulf Coast Region has been hard at work aiding those affected by the recent storms that came through Texas.     To help them continue the great work in our hometown community, we donated to their efforts so they can keep providing cooling centers, meals, and support to thousands of people in need.     We are committed to helping communities thrive—it's one of WM’s core Sustainability ambitions—and we’re proud to help support this local cause.
