TRUSD News Brief! A special swearing-in ceremony for one new and three returning school board members took place before the start of the July 8 special school board meeting. Newcomer Sascha Vogt (Area 7 - Arden Fair, Woodlake and Old North Sacramento) took the oath of office as did returning board members Michael Baker (Area 1 - Old Foothill Farms and North Highlands), Basim Elkarra (Area 5 – North Natomas and Robla) and Christine Jefferson (Area 3 – Del Paso Heights, McClellan Park and North Highlands).

The Twin Rivers Expanded Learning Program is excited to share some of the fantastic enrichment opportunities available before and after school. This year, approximately 8,500 students enjoyed a wide range of activities, including culinary and dessert clubs, running, crocheting, cosmetology, theatre, acrylic nail design, Librarians In Training (LIT), dance, guitar lessons, choir, mariachi, boxing, taekwondo, karate, pickleball, nature exploration, broadcasting, animation, multicultural clubs, and karaoke. Many of these programs were led by our own and very talented TR teachers and others in collaboration with community partners, have made a huge impact on our students' lives.
