I posted some reflections today on my experience at Singapore International Water Week (SIWW). I'm so grateful for the amazing opportunity to travel there and to Phuket, Thailand, as part of The Water Council's participation in the ASEAN Water Smart Engagements (WiSE) program. One thing that struck me in Singapore is how everyone there knows about water issues. Singapore lacks natural #freshwater resources, so it relies on what it calls the Four Taps: imports, rainwater harvesting, water reuse and desalination. Any time I told a resident why I was there, from the taxi drivers to market vendors, they could speak knowledgeably about Singapore's efforts to become more water independent. Singapore effectively operates under one-party rule, which I'm sure helps it with consistent messaging. In the U.S., we have to work that much harder to cut through the noise and let people know about water problems and solutions. https://lnkd.in/gETyBdy2 Christopher Rich Dean Amhaus Laila Sukkariyyah

What's in the water in #Milwaukee?! 💧 Because our founders have come back PUMPED after their week as part of the BREW 2.0 programme! 🤗 ⚡ We are so grateful to The Water Council and their sponsors for hosting such an incredible, jam-packed week. It exceeded our expectations and has us so excited for another trip in the near future 🙌 With 84,000 miles of river in the state of #Wisconsin alone, there is so much opportunity to ensure a clean and secure energy future from these natural, free-flowing assets. It was fantastic to see how engaged and forward thinking the corporates who attended the Demo Day were and how they truly support the water council's mission of driving improvements and sustainable solutions in the water industry. As someone in the corporate panel said "It's a contact sport"💥 , when we work together and take risks that's when innovations can have meangingful and positive impacts in the real world. We look forward to growing our US base and relationships 📌 🌎 #cleanenergy #energyfromwater #waterenergy #hydroenergy #distributedhydro #hydrokinetic Xylem Xylem Innovation Labs Brianne Nakamura, P.E.
