This executive order would not have happened without the advocacy of our community members who've been participating in the Work Permits for All campaign. And while there are still many people waiting for immigration relief, this is still a victory for the movement for immigrant justice Remember there is currently no application process available yet! Please stay tuned for updates from TRP!

Congratulations to our very own Eréndira (Ere) Rendón on this well-deserved honor. Ere's work and leadership with the Work Permits for All Campaign helped deliver last week's executive actions from President Biden that will help keep mixed-status immigrant families together. We encourage you to listen to her inspiring remarks. "Liberation for immigrants, particularly undocumented immigrant women, is at the center of the work we do at The Resurrection Project. These women- women like Alma and Consuelo have made so many of the local wins possible- driver’s license, access to healthcare, funding for legal services, funding for immigrant programs. Wins that have made it possible for my parents to have a driver’s license, for my parents to have healthcare. At TRP, we liberate ourselves, we liberate our people."
This year, we present our Immigration Impact Award to Eréndira (Ere) Rendón at The Resurrection Project (TRP) who has dedicated her entire career to advancing justice for immigrants. Watch her acceptance speech below. #AILAAC24

We want to thank President Biden for announcing new protections and pathways to legalize the status of DACA recipients and undocumented spouses of U.S. citizens nationwide. This means that approximately 500,000 spouses of U.S. citizens who have lived and worked in the U.S. for an average of 23 years will be granted work permits and legal status. The process will be streamlined to provide employers with the confidence to apply for legal work permits for Dreamers, both with and without DACA. https://bit.ly/3z6afwV We would like to extend our gratitude to Eréndira (Ere) Rendón, Raul Raymundo, the TRP Immigrant Justice team, and our partners for their efforts. Today, we can celebrate this victory, as it demonstrates that the President has broad authority to grant protections through executive powers. We celebrate for the families who will experience relief, feel protected, and continue to advocate for work permits for long-term immigrants. Since last May, we have collaborated with our partners, including the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC), the Latino Policy Forum, U.S. Representative Jesus "Chuy" Garcia, IL, U.S. Representative Delia Catalina Ramirez, IL State Senator Karina Villa, IL State Representative Lisa Hernandez, Deputy Mayor for Immigrant, Migrant, and Refugee Rights Beatriz Ponce de León, and our many supporters. Please follow The Resurrection Project for updates on how you can get involved and for additional information about this announcement: https://bit.ly/442gSvx
