Isabella Ghassemi-Smith approached me last year with this brilliant idea to start a podcast series with short stories about women backing themselves in the hopes to inspire other women to go after that thing they've been wanting to. I was touched and honored that she then asked me to be a guest on the series. 📖 Chapter 3: Never compare your insides to someone else's outsides. 🔬 What most people don't know about "The Day I..." is that launching was messy. 😮💨 The episodes now live sat on my computer for 9 months... Not because I was extremely busy with work or life. Simply I'd have weeks where I got in my own way and the simplest tasks wouldn't move forward. 🌈 But then, a day would come up and I'd have a win, like securing a new guest, setting up the podcast platform or writing copy for a post like this... 💡 That's the point though. What you see today is a culmination of those random days that moved the podcast forward...little by little. So no matter what you see on the outside (e.g. on LinkedIn), remember that for most it takes a lot of messy to get there. 🔐 Just starting, no matter how messy, is more important than being perfect. 💙 - 🫶🏼 If you're on the brink of backing yourself and need a story to relate to, search for "The Day I..." It's so easy to see other people's success and think, "Why them, not me?" and blame others for everything you don't have. + But fundamentally, someone else winning is not what's stopping you from succeeding.
