I was asked to give a talk recently on the changes we've seen in sport. We've been working in this industry and studying fan behavior for a while. Sure there are new terms that didn't existing in 2016 when we launched the company. There was no NIL. Everyone was buzzing about esports and wearable tech, but the real innovation was happening at a larger scale. The business model was shifting as sports media rights unbundled and sports betting was just getting approved across the U.S. Now the media world is bundling sports media again, and sports betting is maturing with lower acquisition costs and greater attention to user retention. Everyone says, no one could have predicted the rise of sports in terms of its value to brands, media companies, and investors. It's not true. The data, even back in 2016, showed sports was going to play a much larger role in the economy as new leagues, new distribution outlets, and new technology became more pervasive.
