Earlier this week, Sara W. (VP, Strategy) and Chris Huebner (Director, Strategy Planning) attended the eduWeb Summit in Philadelphia and delivered a fantastic talk on finding the right balance between brand and performance marketing. Sara also had the opportunity to sit down with Enrollify's Mallory Willsea to discuss navigating the new media landscape in higher education marketing. You can catch their conversation on The Higher Ed Pulse now! → https://lnkd.in/g5v65Wfn

Last week at the National Letterwinner Association (NLWA) conference, I helped moderate a discussion about the impacts and opportunities NIL presents for our current and former student-athletes. This piece by UCLA quarterback Chase Griffin captures how alumni ambassadors can be powerful brand advocates for your university. “Having university alums in front-line leadership positions provides a significant competitive advantage for brand stewardship, building relationships with athletes, and embodying the essence of being a lifelong member of a university's community.” More from the SimpsonScarborough Insights blog. https://lnkd.in/g9JuMcDQ

Our remote offices will be closed from July 1 - 5 as we soak up some sun, enjoy time with our loved ones, and recharge. We'll be back on Monday, July 8, refreshed and ready to take on the rest of 2024. We hope you enjoy your holiday!

What an extraordinary conference! Although it’s been a week since SimpsonScarborough CMOLab in Pittsburgh, I’ve been reflecting on all of the ideas, data, insights, innovative thinking and experiences ever since. Everything from building an integrated marketing communications team to surviving as a CMO as higher education evolves. Maybe one of the best things was connecting with CMOs from universities across the country. The not so crazy thing is whether we’re at public or private institutions, big or small, we are all facing the same challenges. I now have 57 new friends to collaborate with and learn from!#highered #inspired #commiserating #NothingBetter #MyPeople

I've had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the incredible impact that Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) can have on both employees and the organization as a whole. As we near, #Juneteenth, one group that holds a special place in my heart is our Black Employee Resource Group (BERG). We celebrated not just a historic moment of freedom, but also the vibrant community we've built within SimpsonScarborough. The BERG also invited fellow colleagues to a "virtual cookout" to learn more about Juneteenth and to deepen our understanding and appreciation of the culinary traditions central to the Black experience in America. I'm amazed by my colleagues' willingness to learn, grow and fellowship, all in an effort to maintaining a workplace where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued — which can present unique challenges within a remote-first environment. This Juneteenth, let's continue to celebrate freedom, embrace our authentic selves, and build communities that support and empower every individual. Happy Juneteenth, y'all! #ERGs #Community #Authenticity #DiversityAndInclusion #Juneteenth #PeopleAndCulture #Leadership
