You are all welcome to join us tomorrow. Thank you, Mariana Flores Vargas and Juli-Anne Russo PhD, for the kind invitation. The Caribbean Aquaculture Education and Innovation Hub and Hatch Blue teamed up to organise this webinar to showcase the work of female innovators and entrepreneurs in the seaweed sector and support Women in Caribbean Aquaculture and Caribbean Aquaculture students. From cosmetics, fashion, pharmaceuticals, and nutraceuticals to agriculture and beyond, seaweed entrepreneurs are developing high-value products and providing alternative livelihoods for coastal communities. It is a fast-moving sector, and in this webinar, we will hear insights and perspectives from five trailblazers: 🇧🇿 Jalima Gold will explain how the Belize Women's Seaweed Farmers Association is tackling climate change on their seaweed farms. 🇯🇲 @Monique Jones will tell us about the journey and impact of Moss Be Nice, a sea moss-based cosmetics brand. 🇧🇷 Thamires Pontes will talk about an exciting future that includes seaweed fabrics from PHYCOLABS. 🏴🇻🇪 Jessica Giannotti will share how the SeaDyes Limited team aims for net-zero goals and toxic-free dyeing processes of textiles. 🇲🇽🇳🇴 Paulina Zanela will share how Thalasso AS is turning a sargassum problem into an opportunity in the Mexican Caribbean.
