We’re obsessed with European butter from France: Richer and fattier than its typical American counterpart and with a cultured umami boost to boot, it’s a foolproof way to add luxurious texture and flavor to everything you cook. Try our three favorite chef-approved ways to use it: https://lnkd.in/emzJVXbr #EnjoyItsFromEurope In partnership with Taste Europe | Butter of France

What a treat! The much anticipated reboot issue of Field & Stream’s print mag just arrived in my mailbox. You guys, it’s just gorgeous, and bundled with some supercool swag. Looking forward to diving in (and taking the northern pike brandade recipe for a spin! 😍) this weekend. Long live print! Bravo, Colin Kearns and team. 🥂🥂🥂

It's a great honor and responsibility to offer the first major print treatment on a culinary community or culture. But in her debut book, THE SALVISOUL COOKBOOK, the activist and author Karla Tatiana Vasquez does just that, distilling generations of cooking knowledge from El Salvador into a gorgeous volume of recipes and stories. A blend of ethnography, food writing, and community-based journalism, it's not just the first major cookbook on Salvadoran cuisine; it is an invitation to the next hundred cookbooks on El Salvador, and to a much broader appreciation of the passion, craft, and heart of Salvi women everywhere. It was such a joy to speak with Karla this month in my capacity as contributing editor to SAVEUR; read the interview now!

Cooking has always been about more than just the food. Throughout history, many have turned to it as a form of resistance. For our new print issue, contributing editor Dr. Jessica Carbone takes a look at cookbooks through the ages that brought politics to the table. https://lnkd.in/em_aK-KV

Print isn't dead. 💀 There were 122 magazine launches in the U.S. in 2022, more than double the number in 2020. And though '23 saw fewer new titles come to market, the momentum continues today thanks to a slate of buzzworthy (re)launches. Entrepreneurs and media mavens are leading the notable comebacks of NME Magazine, Saveur, LIFE and Field & Stream. (Just to name a few!) All of this, and newsstand favorites continue to endure. But the latest buzz about the medium isn't just a moment. It's a movement – for many, away from the exhausting 24/7/365 focus on screens. Reading a magazine can feel like an act of defiance and discovery all at once. A chance to slow down. A tactile escape from ad trackers and trending audio. An opportunity to dive deep into a world of culture, art, fandom, food. To pore over page after page, again and again, each time finding something new. Magazines FOREVER, and better than ever. ❤️ CC: Michelle Thomas emily kehe Katie Bianco Pamela S. McNally Holly E.
