Hurricane Beryl has left thousands without power in Texas. Red Cross mobile response teams are reaching hard hit communities with food, water and emergency supplies. #RedCrossNCGC volunteer Vic Parker (first photo, on left) of Newark, Delaware is among the 600+ Red Crossers who are in Texas to help after the devastating hurricane. The Red Cross is working with local partners to meet the growing need for emergency shelter as Texans seek relief from extreme heat and massive power outages. https://rdcrss.org/4bCIDx8 You can help those affected by Hurricane Beryl in the United States by donating to American Red Cross disaster relief. Visit RedCross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (800-733-2767) or text the word BERYL to 90999 to donate. Thank you.

Today, we celebrate a milestone birthday for one of our beloved volunteers, Mary Gaskins. Ms. Mary turns 95 years young today and is an inspiration as she continues to volunteer two days per week at our Baltimore office. When asked how she stays so spry, she mentioned that she keeps active, shows others that she cares about them and treats others with kindness. She said she also wants to recommend to others that staying grateful goes a long way too! We certainly hope that this will be Ms. Mary’s best birthday ever and that she knows we are so grateful for her! 💜 Read more about Ms. Mary's generous spirit and lifelong commitment to her community: https://rdcrss.org/4d0qt9M

American Red Cross of the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region reposted this
As we continue to shelter, feed, and help the people of Ruidoso, NM we are constantly threatened by monsoonal rains and flash floods. Our teams are constantly adapting and responding to these changing situations but also having lots of fun and making new friends. I even met American Red Cross of the National Capital & Greater Chesapeake Region volunteer Janice Ko who is helping people along their recovery.
