We are excited to share that CNBC-Statista has named Public one of the “World’s Top Fintech Companies of 2024” in the wealth management category! We aim to be the primary portfolio for retail investors looking to access the stock, ETF, treasury and corporate bonds, options, crypto, and alternative asset markets. This past year, we launched options trading with rebates, a high-yield cash account, fractional treasury and corporate bonds, Alpha, our AI research assistant, and many other features and updates to our product. There is still a lot to do, but we are honored to be on this list and can’t wait to share more product and feature updates with our members. Check out the complete list here: https://lnkd.in/gS3UiqcW

Politics on a very broad scale don’t matter for your portfolio, according to Callie Cox, Chief Market Strategist at Ritholtz Wealth Management. Callie joins Kyla Scanlon to share a wild stat about U.S. presidents & recessions, the unusual market dominance by $NVDA & big tech, the eerily quiet summer for stocks, & more. Today, we’re excited to introduce Queue, a new tool to help you plan and place orders on Public. Now available for all Public members on the web. • Plan and organize stock, ETF, and options orders in advance. • See real-time price movements and edit orders dynamically. • Place multiple orders at once for a faster trading experience. Many of you told us that having one place where you could plan orders would be a game changer. You wanted a tool to tee up trades, edit them dynamically, and execute multiple orders with one click. We listened and got to work. As we started building Queue, we wanted to ensure you could monitor price movements in real-time and edit orders on the fly. The market moves fast, and our goal was to help you stay flexible and responsive to make the most of every investment opportunity. Throughout Queue's development, we held several feedback sessions with Public members to refine the design and experience. Your insights were invaluable in shaping Queue into the robust, user-friendly tool it is today. Now that Queue is live on our web experience, we can’t wait to hear what you think. We hope it helps you plan, monitor, and execute your trades more efficiently. As always, keep your ideas coming. We love building our product alongside Public members.

Thank you Hope King and Public for having me on the show to discuss what we’re doing differently here at Affirm. Looking forward to next time!
Max Levchin says it's great that consumer regulations are extending to BNPL because the rest of the market needs to be as good as Affirm at protecting users. Levchin compares Affirm’s quality to other lenders, calling credit cards “power tools with safety off.” w/ Hope King Spotify: https://lnkd.in/eDTA7Xjt YouTube: https://lnkd.in/er_XmTPi

Taxes are on many Investopedia readers’ minds for the upcoming election, says Caleb Silver. Silver explains that readers are looking into how a Trump or Biden presidency could impact their tax bill, as Investopedia fans begin emphasizing their finances over the stock market. Joshua Brown is tired of the media treating interest rate decisions as 'life or death' and the 'circus' surrounding the Federal Reserve meetings. The Ritholtz Wealth Management CEO joins Leading Indicator with J.D. Durkin to talk about why the Fed gets too much attention, why an 'AI air pocket' could be the biggest risk for markets, and what he thinks the biggest surprise of 2024 has been. ✋ Raise your hand if you’re doing this too Another thing I started doing with my 5 year old: “robot question time” where they can ask any 3 question on their mind. When you match a child’s curiosity and nativity with the power of GPT it ends being a really cool way to learn from first principles. Questions like “why does the ocean exist” and “who invented letters” (Pro tip: ask chatGPT to “explain it to me like I’m 5”) Awesome to see the wonder in their eyes when you read the answers out loud.
Toward the end of my conversation with sweetgreen CEO Jonathan Neman, we talked about bedtime stories. Why? They're being disrupted by generative AI — a tool he can now use with his 3 1/2-year-old to personalize stories and squeeze in specific lessons.. not unlike putting veggies in dessert 🍴🍴Genius? You tell me. But also, is this potentially worrisome for children's book authors 🤐 (Potentially, I said! Potentially.) We talked about a lot more so watch the rest on Public + Spotify https://lnkd.in/eNjkmdi7

Bonds can be a compelling investment, especially with today’s high yields. But most retail investors haven’t invested in bonds (yet). That’s because the experience can be clunky. We’ve fixed that. Introducing fractional bond investing on Public. Now, you can buy and sell corporate and Treasury bonds for as little as $100. No more sky-high minimums. Buy in any increment you want. We were the first to offer real-time trading of fractional stocks and ETFs. Now, we’re doing the same for bonds. Public is the only place where you can purchase bonds for any dollar amount you like, just like you do with stocks, ETFs, and crypto. Other brokerages have minimums of $1,000 for bonds, with some bonds starting in the tens of thousands. We’ve always believed in making the public markets work for all people, and are proud to be the only place where you can invest in a variety of bonds for as little as $100. Just because bonds have been around for ages, doesn’t mean your bond trading platform has to feel stuck in the 20th century. We’re one of the only brokerages to allow bond investing on your phone. And we’ve built new tools, like AI-powered bond search and an easy-to-use screener. There are currently 100+ fractional bonds on Public, and we’ll continue to add more. You can filter by fractional bonds in our screener tool, or look for the Fractional tag on bond pages. We think these changes are the biggest things to happen to bonds since, well, ever. But you be the judge. If you’re considering bonds for your portfolio, we’d love for you to check out our experience and as always, we love to hear your feedback.
