  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a transformative therapy that helps veterans process trauma and find relief from PTSD. This evidence-based treatment is recognized by the VA, WHO, and many other organizations for its effectiveness. By helping veterans process traumatic memories, EMDR can significantly reduce PTSD symptoms and improve overall mental health. Learn more about how EMDR can help veterans by reading this comprehensive article: https://lnkd.in/gGBp762 During PTSD Awareness Month, let's spread the word about effective treatments like EMDR. Together, we can support our veterans on their journey to healing. #PTSDAwarenessMonth #EMDR #MentalHealth #VeteransSupport

  • As Hurricane Beryl approaches, we are preparing to ensure the safety and well-being of the 60-70 Veterans currently residing on our campus at Camp Hope. We are committed to keeping our Veterans' and supporters' families updated as we face this storm together. The greater Houston area has experienced its share of tropical storms and hurricanes, including the devastating Hurricane Harvey in 2017. However, our five-acre campus has consistently withstood these challenges. The main issue we anticipate is accessing the campus if the surrounding streets and highways flood. Despite this, we are confident that our campus will remain the safest place in Texas, even during a hurricane. Here are some important details to note: First, please follow our social media platforms for regular updates throughout the storm. Our Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) pages will be used to communicate any campus needs or news over the next few days. Second, we have taken the necessary steps to address any potential issues and ensure the safety and comfort of those residing at Camp Hope. Although we have made preparations, we would greatly appreciate all prayers as we navigate through the uncertainty of a hurricane. Lastly, the preparations for this storm have incurred unexpected costs, and we anticipate additional expenses in the coming days. If you wish to support us in providing for our Veterans during this time, you can make a donation here. https://www.ptsdusa.org Click on the Donate Now button in the upper right-hand corner. We request that each of you pray for our community and all those on Beryl's path. “God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore, we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah” Psalm 46 Please Stay Safe!! PTSD Veteran Crisis Line (Available 24/7) (877) 717-PTSD (7873) Office: 832-912-4429

  • Reflecting on the 2nd Annual Texas Women’s Veterans Day hosted by the City of Houston Mayor’s Office of Military and Veterans Affairs a few weeks ago, led by MOMVA LaShondra Jones, Ph.D. As we approach the Fourth of July tomorrow, let's continue to honor the courage and service of our women veterans!

  • We were honored to welcome Cheryl Duff (President) and Brad Duff (Treasurer) of the Ralph A. Johnston Foundation on May 3 to discuss the programs and mission of the PTSD Foundation of America. On May 23, Cheryl hand-delivered a generous donation on behalf of their entire Board of Directors. We are excited about this new partnership and look forward to building this new and crucial relationship as together we serve those coping with combat-related post-traumatic stress.
