Delve into our interactive “Live Emotion” gallery to explore some of the most iconic venues across sport, live performances and other major global events from the past 40 years. Our unique design history has acted as the backdrop for much bigger stories and moments — those of community, sustainability and passion — for four decades and counting. As we commemorate this milestone, we want to say thank you and celebrate with you, the individuals across the world who fill these venues with the emotion that gives them meaning. We are so excited that FLOAT — our concept to reuse the components of the roof of the Olympic Stadium in Montreal — has been selected as one of the winning concepts. Voting is now open to the public: https://lnkd.in/eVc9znw6 Designed by Roger Taillibert for the 1976 Summer Olympics, the Olympic Stadium in Montreal is cited as a masterpiece of organic modern architecture. FLOAT reuses components of the stadium roof to create four floating islands connected by an arched jetty. This proposal combines sustainability, fun and creativity to deliver a unique gathering place rooted in its community and honoring the boldness of the 1976 Olympic Stadium. Vote for FLOAT today.

Excited to announce our speaking slot tomorrow at Cortina Design Weekend, where we'll be exploring the convergence of two of my passions: mountains and architecture. In dialogue with the magazine THE PLAN, we will share insights on how technology and design can work together to create innovative solutions in our projects, making the mountains the perfect destination for sports enthusiasts, both in summer and winter. #Populous #drawingpeopletogether #cfu #cortinaforus #CDW24 #cortinadesignweekend #cortinadampezzo #comunedicortinadampezzo #dolomiti

On Sunday, the British Grand Prix returned to Silverstone, where Lewis Hamilton secured his first victory since 2021 after a race-long battle with Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. The world-renowned race circuit and facilities were upgraded by Populous in 2011, including the now-iconic pit and paddock building, designed to reflect the speed and excitement of racing itself. At Populous our teams bring expertise and experience from across the globe to every building, and every team, we design for. When creating elite training and performance facilities we absorb insights and innovations from different cultures and different sports before combining them with each client’s individual vision and best-in-class design to make every project unique. At Vanderbilt University, we have designed a bespoke, multi-floor, gender equitable basketball operations center building, with two practice gyms spanning more than 95,000 square feet. The entire project represents a bold step for Vanderbilt Athletics, with performance insights and design innovation that will help propel their athletes to the next levels of performance. A new standard of excellence for SEC basketball, learn more about the project here: https://lnkd.in/dkQKQq2
